- A controversial piece of art showing a 10-year-old Brooke Shields nude, oiled, and heavily made-up standing in a bathtub has been removed from a UK art exhibit over concerns that it breaches obscenity laws.

The Tate Modern took down the provocative 1983 piece called "Spiritual America" by American artist, Richard Prince, after Metropolitan Police launched an investigation. The artwork was based on the infamous image of Shields taken by photographer Garry Gross. ... Read full article »

It's beauty. If you have a problem with the appearance of a nude human, take it up with the creator.

Having seen the image, I can say that, personally, that's a purely sexualised image. Of a woman over 18, it would be classed as porn - especially with the make-up and setting. Of Brooke at age 10? It's disgusting.

I have long felt the Tate Modern is a breeding ground of idiocy. This just helps to paint that picture.

Is that not considered child pornography?I really don't think that should have been on a museum wall.Somebody should also be in jail.

I just cannot imagine my little sister . . . who's the same age as Brooke Shields was in Pretty Baby . . . ever being shown to the whole world in her Birthday Suit.
It is completely wrong to have a child show themselves that way. It must cause serious mental issues, I would think.

It's pedophile porn no matter if its dressed up as art or not- take a ten year old with a pushy parent and who is not able to give consent and you get an exploited child forced to become a sex symbol at a very early age- the sexualisation of chuildren is what I find most appalling about advertising and the media these days- I worked with sex-offenders for years- assessing them for the courts and treating them in an effort to stop them doing it again - and one of the main things they always said that they liked was the increasing sexualisation of little girls - It is a soapbox I am trying not to climb onto right now to spare you all me ranting on about it lol

Does anyone remember the movie "Pretty Baby"? It showed Brooke Shields in full frontal nudity at the age of 10 or 12.

Forced to be a "sex symbol" at ten years old it's a shame!
frontal nudity age 10 12 forced sex symbol years shame
