Georgia rapper Bobby Ray first got attention in 2007 with his ultra-hooky single "Haterz Everywhere." His debut album easily stands above the dozens of forgettable Southern hip-hop acts, thanks to his seamless blend of old school and new. And B.o.B.'s old school references are really old. He mixes up doo-wop with classic '70s soul and sits them on top of beats that could be built in 2010. The melodies are made for your mom, and the lyrics are meant for after hours. When RIvers Cuomo and Eminem are both on your album, you know you're doing something right. Here's hoping Bobby Ray is here to stay.
