I used to love Pink Floyd. My husband introduced me to them many years ago. But since he left me on Halloween '06 (after 17 years of marriage to be with our sons ex-girlfriend), I find that I cannot listen to any of their songs anymore. Same thing with AC/DC. Can't do it.

You, Yes You, Stand Still Laddie!

When we grew up and went to school, there were certain teachers who would hurt the children anyway they could
by pouring their derision upon anything we did
exposing every weakness however carefully hidden by the kids.

But in the town it was well known that when they got home at night
    their fat and psychopathic wives
Would thrash them within inches of their lives!

ooooooooooooo, oooooooo, ooooooooooo, ooooooooo, ooooooooo, ooooooooo, oooo.

    We don't need no education
We don't need no thought control
No dark sarcasm in the classroom
    Teachers leave them kids alone
Hey! Teacher! Leave them kids alone!
All in all it's just another brick in the wall.
All in all you're just another brick in the wall.

You are from a different time and place. There some great bands like Pearl Jam...Tool..Audio Slave and Rage Against the Machine to name a few. So I can see your point. New time and new place.

i like tool and a lot of newer stuff, but give me any of the first 6 black sabbath albums over any other music. i just never got into floyd. too depressing and drawn out, and i don't like the backup chorus vocals. the older psychedelic stuff is good, but i'm sick of the wall. they're talented, but i think they're overrated.

Pink Floyd are OK, Dark Side if the Moon was an entertaining album for a curious teenager experimenting with drugs and the mysteries of the universe "whoah, maybe our solar system is like this single atom on the fingernail of some huge being, dude...". But generally speaking, Pink Floyd are for young teens, not adult music. And The Wall is simply stupid: "we dont need no education" are you kidding me? HELL YES, we DO need education!
