Thats incredibly sad. I've been a fan. You're right, Dave Stevens brought her back to the public spotlight and she stayed thanks to the Rocketeer. The character based on her was played by the lovely Jennifer Connelly in the film adaptation and Pages life story was told in the movie The Notorious Betty Page where she was played by Gretchen Mol. Thats just so sad.
the first picture i remember seeing of her was her in a leapord print bikini on a beach looking like she was roaring like a cat. i thought she was absolutely gorgeous! i am only in my early 30's but she was one of the first women that caught my attention as attractive as a young boy. she was an icon since she helped to push the fetish and sexual boundaries in her time. may she rest in peace and live in our hearts forever
She had a rough life, in and out of mental institutions and all sorts of things that happened to her that was not good and I am surprised that she lived as long as she did. RIP
She was a cultural icon. I am sorry to hear it. I read that when she became popular again with the retro crowd that she didn't get any of the money from it and that she died very poor. That isn't cool. I don't think anything she did was immoral although at the time she got a lot of flack. RIP Betty. I hope you are young and beautiful again where ever you are.
She was a beautiful woman and ahead of her time in showing woman it was okay to be sexy. It wasn't just her body which was beautiful, but the confidence that showed in her gorgeous eyes. I was sad to hear that she had passed. I hope she knew how much people loved her for more than just her sex appeal.
