PETA Slams Beyonce's Super Bowl Costume: Is Wearing Iguana and Python OK?

Beyonce may have sung live at the Super Bowl, shutting down all those naysayers who thought she might lip sync again. And she may have reunited Destiny's Child, satisfying all those hoping to see the three women sing together again.

Plus, her performance is being touted as one the best in the sporting event's 47-year history. But not everyone is saying positive things about the "Single Ladies" singer. PETA is not at all happy with Ms. Knowles.

Her body-hugging, booty-baring, black suit was made of python and iguana skin, causing the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals to cry foul. They were also not too pleased that Mrs. Jay-Z showed up at the Inauguration in January wearing a mink coat.

The Daily News has quoted a PETA spokesman saying, "We would take a bet that if Beyonce watched our video exposes, she'd probably not want to be seen again in anything made of snakes, lizards, rabbits or other animals who died painfully." At least they didn’t douse her with fake animal blood as she left the stage. What do you think? Is wearing iguana and python OK?

Good Grief, PETA, don't you read the news? There's a python crisis in the Everglades. The best thing that we could possibly do for the safety of the animals native to the habitat is exterminate every python currently there, and, if one way to do that is to make it profitable to collect python skins to sell to clothiers, so be it. Right on Beyonce! Go Green, girl, go Green!

Frankly, I can't stand PETA. I find them annoying and borderline terrorist. You can get yelled at out here in CA in Faux fur IF they think it's the real deal. They are quite scary people....very vicious.

I don't care about PETA since PETA kills animals for no good reason anyways, but I don't like killing animals for any purpose other than food and ONLY if the animal has been humanely raised. If there are leftover parts after the animals in question has been humanely killed, then do whatever. It would be a shame and disrespectful to not use the leftover parts.

This seems to be "Slam Beyonce Season"! Suddenly there's an all out war on whatever Beyonce does! Juss too much time is wasted with this "empty" comentary .. She has always been controversial, she was no more darned next to naked than any other time I've seen her perform! I've actually seen her more scantily dressed then she was this time! So many people garnish themselves and make fashion statements with outfits that include something from an animal! What makes Beyonce such an exception?? Besides, what is a football made of??? Screw Peta! Peta is part of what's wrong with this country now. An example of political correctness taken to the extream. Crazy. I don't condone animal cruelty, but enough is enough already. I'll wear my leather shoes with wool socks and fur lined goose down filled jacket. You can go naked.

Maybe: It really depends on if they're skinned alive or not, like cats, etc. are for fur. I eat plenty of meat, and in theory I would have no problem with wearing animal fur or skins (why waste?), but skinning animals alive for their fur/skin is just unconscionably cruel, and I do lose respect for people who financially support those practices.
