PETA Is Mad That Honey Boo Boo Named Her Chicken 'Nugget': Understandable or Overreaction?

Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson has a new pet chicken, but PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) aren’t too happy with the name she has chosen for it: Nugget. According to E!, the organization has sent her a letter suggesting a different name "in order to honor her as your friend and protect other chickens just like her."

The letter, written by PETA rep Michelle Cho, says that “chickens are smart, interesting animals with personalities of their own," and suggests that Alana rename her chicken “Not a Nugget” so that people know that “they should be nice to chickens by not eating them."

Cho also says that Alana doesn’t have to stop eating chicken nuggets, because "there are yummy vegan-chicken nuggets in grocery stores today that taste just like meat.” Perhaps she hasn’t seen “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo”? Do you think the letter is understandable or a total overreaction?

    Why not? Honey Boo Boo isn't just ANY little girl, she is a celebrity with millions of viewers and the things she says and does are broadcast all over the country. If PETA could convince her to change her chicken's name, then they score a PR hit, especially if Honey Boo Boo says "I changeded my cheeckins name 'cause I love him and don't wanna kill 'em and eat him like a cheeckin nugget" See what I mean?

    Damnit, I hit the wrong vote. I seriously meant to hit overreaction. Lol. I hate PeTA. As much as I hate Honey Boo Boo, I hate PeTA a whole world more. Anything that makes them angry, I applaud. For once, Boo Boo did something right.
