It’s hard to believe any celeb doesn’t expect that their every conversation is being recorded these days. But clearly, Paris Hilton didn’t think that anyone was listening during a recent taxi ride in New York. According to TMZ, Hilton was talking to a gay friend when she commented, “Ewwww ... gay guys are the horniest people in the world. Most of them probably have AIDS ... I would be so scared if I was a gay guy ... you'll like die of AIDS."

Her shocking statement was allegedly made in response to her pal showing her his Grindr app. The self-proclaimed “all-male location-based social network” allows guys to not only meet but locate other guys who are interested in everything from being friends to full on hook-ups.
Always known to be a supporter of the gay community, Hilton was quick to push out an explanation for what her team is saying is an "out of context" remark during a heated argument. A statement released by her publicist tried to clear up the whole mess by saying, “Paris Hilton's comments were to express that it is dangerous for anyone to have unprotected sex that could lead to a life threatening disease." But this could really damage her status in certain circles. Do you think Paris will be shunned by the gay community?

She has freedom of speech. She did not say anything that was not true. So what is the problem.
If they wish to shun her that is fine. They can stop buying her clothing and perfume lines of merchandise.
I didn't ever want to be in that position. Dang it.
So here's my defense of her: she really seems like she was reacting to her hot gay male model friends discussion of Grindr in NYC. In that context...what she said makes more than a little sense. Especially if you consider that she was likely warning her friend AWAY from dealing with guys on a site that caters to finding the closest guy for you to hook up with randomly.
If they do something cool, or save someone's life or something then yeah okay, but RIHANNA CHANGES HAIRDO* really shouldn't be a headline o3o
* this isn't an actual headline but you know what I mean
