  2. Saw 3D

    Saw 3D

"Saw 3D" brought a new low to the franchise, so it's not surprising that the series seems to be over now.

  3. The Rage: Carrie 2

    The Rage: Carrie 2

This sequel came decades after the original, made no sense and hardly made any money -- makes you wonder why they bothered.

  4. Exorcist II: The Heretic

    Exorcist II: The Heretic

"The Exorcist" is considered one of the greatest horror films ever made; its sequel is definitely one of the worst. Oops!

  5. Aliens Vs. Predator: Requiem

    Aliens Vs. Predator: Requiem

There are tons of bad sequels with Predators or Aliens in them, but this is one wins as the dumbest of the lot.

  6. Lost Boys 2: The Tribe

    Lost Boys 2: The Tribe

You can't help but love the classic original from the 1980s, but this 2008 sequel needs a stake through its heart...

  7. The Grudge 2 (U.S.)

    The Grudge 2 (U.S.)

This terrible sequel to the U.S. remake of a Japanese horror classic pretty much killed off the American market for "J-Horror."

  8. Jaws: The Revenge

    Jaws: The Revenge

Michael Caine had this to say about his part in "Jaws: The Revenge": "I have never seen it, but by all accounts it is terrible. However, I have seen the house that it built, and it is terrific."

"Paranormal Activity 4" may have just hit the theaters, but Paramount has already announced another sequel, according to Deadline Hollywood. "Paranormal Activity 5" will come out in time for Halloween 2013.

This isn't exactly surprising news. The Hollywood Reporter say that "Paranormal Activity 4" took in $26.5 million for its opening weekend, surpassing the opening takes for each of the previous two sequels in the series. It appears that the title is set to replace the "Saw" films as the top annual Halloween horror franchise.

In addition, Deadline Hollywood also reports that a Latino spinoff is planned and will be directed by Christopher Landon, who worked on the 2007 horror hit "Disturbia." An insider told them that "this will be an off-shoot aimed at the groups who have been the biggest supporters of the property –- Latinos and folks in Latin America –- Mexico, Brazil, and Argentina."

This is a regular crapfest tight here. But I still say the Paranormal Activity movies are by far the dumbest, most horrible attempt at making a scary movie I've ever heard of. If these scare you, then that is just pathetic.

Oh, I so agree. The first remake wasn't bad, but damn, Rob Zombie's Part II version made the origional Halloween II look like an Oscar winner. Regardless, I like Jamie-Lee Curtis far more.

Thank you so much .. and i can't believe it didn't make the list, it was voted as one of the biggest failures in a horror movie remakes .. it ruined the chances of a good trilogy, the next one there going to have to do a whole new story line to hopefully fix it, which honestly there is no fixing it now .. unless Matt can pull a wild hair out . I actually liked the original part 2 a bit better than the first, mainly cause they took more time on it , and graphics improved. I really hope they don't murder any more good movies as they already have .. Poor Carrie is next on the chopping block >_<

I thought the first Paranormal Activity movie was boring. I can't believe they're already on 5.

Actually, most of these on this list are stupid, but AvP:R is a guilty pleasure and I actually liked Saw 3D. (The whole series, in fact.)

The first one was scary, but after that they got repetitive and stupid. What are they going to do for the next one? Have the same exact scenario only it's going to be a teenage guy instead of a girl

What about Friday the 13th? Wasn't there like 14 movies of them total? Wish the one where Jason is in space never was made. At some point they couldn't even call it Friday the 13th anymore for licensing reasons. I agree that there only should of been 1 Paranormal even though I have watched none of them.

Paranormal activity movies are trash. But as long as 2 people keep on seeing the new ones, they will keep making money. Especially when it only costs 10 bucks to make those movies...

I never saw any of the Paranormal movies, I have no desire to. Just watching commercials with the test audiences (where do they get these people?) freaking out just made this film look more stupid. I'll stick to Poltergeist, at least the first one.

Lost Boys 2 was made by request of Corey Haim and Corey Feldman's fans while they were roomed up together on their reality show and it really didn't need to be made. Strangly, Part 3 was better, but by a small margin.

Aliens vs Predator: Requiem wasn't too bad to be honest.

The Saw movies became rather redundant after the second one. Part VI was a good finish.

Carrie 2 didn't need to be made, and I can say the same about the other sequels of movies based on a Stephen King story. I'm just waiting for someone to make a Christine 2 where a government mad scientist puts the cursed Plymoth Fury together from its crushed cube state and makes it a transforming robot. I've heard someone is planning on making a seqel to The Shining. Unless King wrote the story himself, don't make it.

    Exorcist II, III... zzzz

Actually, I thought Jaws 3D was dumber. Made to introduce 3D tech to the audience along with Friday the 13th 3D, which actually wasn't bad compared to Part V, Part VIII and X and Freddy vs. Jason.

I'm going to say out o...

I'm going to say out of all the dumb sequels made, it would be Halloween III. All that move did is play on the whole Satanic Panic conspiracy theory and had nothing to do with the other Halloween movies.

Those test "audiences" probably get paid for their bad acting. Or they just give them free popcorn and soda and they're happy. They don't exactly look like a gathering of mensa members.

No, after watching footage of Jaws- The Revenge again, it's a toss up between part III and IV. The shark roaring like a Jurassic Park dinosaur actually probably made part III better.
