Sticking with popular music is proof the Grammys suck.

The Grammy's never get the nominations right, as it mainly promotes the worst and most popular the industry has to offer. It's nothing more than a promotional tool to pull the sheep over the fence to buy more of the major labels homogenized garbage they pass off as music these days.

Well, they got it right when they snubbed Bieber, 1d, and Nicki Minaj, but after that things went downhill.

The awards are more like 'We give awards to the most popular songs'.....Anyone else thinks so?

Minus Carly Rae Jepsen, I think the nominees look fine.

And it starts off with the ridiculous mention of "Call Me Maybe" recieving two nominations. To be honest Carly Rae Jepsen is and will always be a one hit wonder... I highly doubt we will hear her 15 years from now.

Is it bad I didn't know this was going on? I'm more updated with the Kerrang awards. kerrang award
  • Raiders757 Sarah 2012/12/11 15:35:09
    Raiders757
Well at least Kerrang tries their best to award actual musicians instead fake performers and entertainers. Can't say I blame you for not knowing it was even "going on". The Grammy's are no longer for fans of real honest to God music. it's a promotional tool for the homogenized pop culture industry and the dumbed down fools that buy their so called music.

I never watch award shows anyway. It's never "best lead singer", "best singer", "best single" or any of that. It's just "most popular ________" all the time.

You can't spell crap without rap, and sadly R&B music lost it's way over the past twenty years.

That's a very subjective opinion, because if they truly did that, the majority of those nominated over the past twenty years, would never have seen the light of day. Not saying it doesn't take talent to be an entertainer/performer, but to to call most of today's pop performers musicians, is an insult to those who actually are.

Nicki Minaj, Justin Bieber, and One Direction weren't nominated. I was curious as to why Muse wasn't in there, but if those three aren't, there is hope for the future.

While I'm glad Kelly Clarkson got several nominations (she's my wife's favorite of all time, so... gotta support my angel)... I can't believe that "Call Me Maybe" song was nominated for song of the year. *Bbbraaaffffff* (That was me vomiting.)
