I think she has done more than enough and should consider retirement to enjoy her remaining years with her family and loved ones.

No, she has so much more to express and to give. And, Oprah lives - and enjoys her work! But she should not feel she must stick with her network. Oprah will always find a way to contribute - even when she is semi-retired. She has given us so much! If she were my BFF, I would encourage her to hire some top people - who can do what she cannot - and delegate! Then, she should hire in her image. I would love for her to have a "Sharks" type show where aspiring stars could pitch programs.
As far as her admitting her mistakes, good for her! Transparency works, but few of us have the courage to embrace it. Oprah should look to the early days of the big 3 networks. There were mistakes and disasters every day; pioneers understand that perfection isn't the goal; survival, progress, and hope for a better tomorrow are much better pursuits.

Maybe she would have been more successful if she wasn't such a greedy bitch, even Ellen's done more than Oprah has for others and she's a multi millionaire whereas Oprah is a BILLIONAIRE. Ellen's the new Oprah, only better.

How was she greedy? Raising millions for charity here in American, opening schools in Africa to further the plight of women, making people aware of the needs of others??? Please expalin.

    Raising millions?
She is a billionaire. Why does she need to take other people's money for charity? When she has more then enough of her own. The schools in Afica are wonderful, yes but after all these years and all that money she's made she didn't make much of a difference or an impact on the world other then drawing in hundreds of thousands of viewers to her show each day. And Africa? Incase you didn't notice there's so many people who need help right here in North America also and she's made so much money off of them, why not give back here first? This is only my two cents for what it's worth, we are all entitled to have our own opinion and this is just mine.

OK, so let me see if I understand. Because you say she is a billionaire, that means that she doesn't have a responsiblity to organize other people to help as many charities as possible. You think that she should only use her money to fund every needy group in the world. Where is the common sense to that kind of thought process. She earned her money, it wasn't given to her. And along the way she has been overly generous with her fortune, but she still has the RIGHT to the money she earned and it is none of your business what she or other wealthy people have. As long as she uses her influence to get dontations for other charities and doesn't keep any of the money, your comments are quite silly. The only true fund raisers in this country who are successful are those who have the ability to move the masses, that she has done over and over and has helped thousands of needy people. She has no obligation to give her money away to every organization with their hands out. Over the years, she has given millions of her money away on her shows, are you saying that the millions she has donated is not enough?? How much of your wealth are you willing to give away, don't you think you're entitled to keep whatever you have earned through hard work? This kind of logic makes no sense.

    And where d...

And where do you get off saying that the work in Africa has not made much of a difference? You obviously are not well read. She has given thousands, not hundreds, of young women a chance to make a major difference in a country that denogrates women and allows millions of people to die because of ignorance about disease and cleanliness. These young women will pay it forward as they become better educated and they will go on to help their fellow countrymen become more civilized. Perhaps you would prefer to allow other human beings, many helpless children, to continue to die??? It's not a case of "well I didn't cause that", it's a case of humanity for others. Do you close your eyes to issues that cause our children to die here in America. I seriously doubt that but if you are any kind of reasonable human being, you would support and allow any person that is trying to make this planet a better place.

As far as the needs in North American, Oprah has donated millions, this MILLIONS to many organizations here in America. Again, you must not be very well read or you would understand. I hope your motive is not racist. There are millions of dollars spent in the country every day helping people, some of it is from the taxes you pay, in the form of grants, but throwing more and more money at every single possible program will never stop the needs of our American brothers and sisters. She is under no obligation to solve the ills of the U.S. but she shore makes a noticable dent in helping.

Your comments, even though they are your two cents, need some serious thought.

Investments and greed over many years. She left a free network for a paid cable network. She left a lot of people behind when she did that, including me. I'm not willing to pay more money just to get her channel. I would have to take a lineup of other useless channels to get it. Screw that.
