British boy band One Direction won three coveted Moonman awards Thursday night at the MTV VMAs including the award for "Best New Artist." As we told you just the other day, the VMAs have not always accurately predicted who will really be the next big thing, often opting for one-hit-wonders and snubbing artists with real staying power.
