British boy band One Direction won three coveted Moonman awards Thursday night at the MTV VMAs including the award for "Best New Artist." As we told you just the other day, the VMAs have not always accurately predicted who will really be the next big thing, often opting for one-hit-wonders and snubbing artists with real staying power.

One Direction was up against Carly Rae Jepsen, Frank Ocean, Fun. f/Janelle Monae and The Wanted this time around, so do you think they deserved to win? Will they be the the next big pop band?

Just like NKOTB, Backstrett Boys, N Sync were....but little boy bands break up quick. I imagine one or two will eventually break away and do thier own thing. Meh, not my bubble gum style, but worth a comment and vote.

They're going to fade away and fast. Really though, who starts selling a concert a year before the date? I'm already seeing it on tumblr and in real life that girls who bought their tickets for that concert are now starting to realize that they're talentless and reselling their tickets.

Anyone can be made to sound like a good singer. To be a band you need to have some discernable talent. Play some intstuments, maybe write a song or two.

Whether I'm happy or sad about this...I don't know. But I think they're here for a few years (and really, they already are the NBT). After that...it'll probably be like any (especially recent) boyband that hits it big; people will move on. It happens. But, whether you like them or hate them, I don't think it's possible to just say that they're not already hitting it really big. They're in the freaking Guinness World Record 2013 for god's sakes!
