From Olympic glory to ... getting arrested? Two-time Olympic gold medal-winning snowboarder Shaun White apologized Tuesday after his arrest for public intoxication and vandalism.

"I want to apologize for the unwise choices I made over the weekend and for any inconvenience it caused my family, friends, business partners, the hotel and their guests," he says in a statement posted on his Facebook page. "I was celebrating a happy occasion with a ton of family and friends and got carried away. I'm truly sorry for my poor behavior."
White, 26, was arrested early Sunday morning in Nashville, where he was attending a wedding, according to People. Police say White, who appeared to be extremely intoxicated, pulled a hotel fire alarm, causing evacuations, then attempted to flee the scene, and wound up hitting his head as officers chased him. Do you forgive White for his "unwise choices"?

Green is a color 2012/09/18 20:37:17Yes+14first of all, I would not consider him a hero. But that being said... Of course forgive him. He got drunk and made a few mistakes. No big deal.

Second, why does Sodahead always puts two questions in one article. "Is he still a hero?" or "Do you forgive him" have two completely different answers.
I see people do it all the time! Just cause he is a pro snowboarder making money make him any different!
OMG...he got arrested when he was drunk, my word.
Get over it and give the guy a break, maybe he will learn from this, and what the heck...maybe he won't!
Apparently, he is still a helluva snowboarder! Good luck to him!
Surprised, yes. Still a fan, yes.
As for the hero thing... maybe not directly, but what's wrong with inspiring one of the fattest and most lazy generations of youth to actually go outside, take up a sport, and be physically fit? People blasted Michael Phelps a few years ago when he got caught hitting the bong, but how about the rest of the time, when the guy is spending 6-8 hours a day in the pool training?
Maybe these athletes aren't heroes directly, but if they inspire a healthier generation, then maybe they are in a way. After all, the last I checked, firefighters, police, and soldiers need to be fit. Boot camp can only do so much...
