Old Spider-Man Approves of New Spider-Man: Do You?

Tobey is quirkier, cuter and more Peter Parker than Garfield will ever be, why do people find Garfield fit?

Too soon for a reboot. Just saw it and enjoyed it, but I prefer the trilogy. Tobey IS Peter.

Andrew Garfield my 100% approval for looking like Peter Parker, and from what we've seen so far.....portraying the best live action Peter Parker and Spider-Man to date.... I have all my faith saying he will do a fantastic job.

Probably better for the job that Toby was, to begin with. Toby was "ok"...but it seemed like he made the character a very limited one. Not that he couldn't act. Not that he wasn't good. But, I think he took it as far as he probably was ever going to. We will see.

How many different artists have drawn Spider-Man, and in how many different comic titles? I just consider it like I used to think about the comics when I was a kid. The new artist has a different style, but it's still about Spider-Man. If the kid can act, then he's got the job. Let Tobey Maguire do what he thinks is best for him and let's not pigeonhole him into one part. I say if this kid's got the chops, he's got the chops, and if he doesn't then he doesn't. I'll let the movie prove it, and I'll watch it with as little preconception as possible so I can enjoy it all the more.

Oh, and did I mention how many people have played Batman through the years? I still think of Adam West as Batman, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying any of them from Michael Keaton to Christian Bale and everyone between. Sorry guys, I can't remember EVERYONE that's done it, but I've enjoyed them all...

Tobey ruined it he should of done the movie ......my spidey days are over just like hulk was when they switched characters.....I still say they should of left mavel comics comic strip movies not human effects....characters cant keep their roles.

After three successful movies, why did they need the reboot?

From what I've seen of the trailers, I think he'll actually do a better job than Maguire, who way overplayed the wussy, dorky Peter and almost completely ignored Spidey's wisecracking smartassery.

I think andrew garfield is a good actor, if you've seen the rest of his films you know what i'm talking about. He seems like he'd be better at acting out and portraying spiderman than toby...and plus, he does an excellent american accent for a guy with a british one :)

I have mixed feelings about this movie. So far the only reason I want to see it is for Emma Stone and Emma Stone alone. I really only prefer Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man, but I suppose I'll give this one a chance. Can't compare two things properly if you've only seen one of the two.

There should be an undecided here... cuz I am undecided about this... First off, Toby M. basically has to say yes he approves of this to show 1. to be a good sportman about it.. 2.. Him and Kristen D. both said that they would not do anymore Spiderman movies after the last one.. So they basically killed it from there.. and to bring in 2 new people at that stage of the game would of been the death of the series... Thus doing a reboot from the beginning or later in life is the only way to go.. And unfortunately, in this case as in many other cases this kind of reboot doesn't always work to well.. So the real question is going to be answered after it's opening weekend..

From what I can tell of the trailers, this movie looks awesome. The classic smart mouth is back and so are the web shooters. It also looks like it is a little darker than the previous series which is a plus. Focusing more on how hard it actually is to be Spider-man instead of how much Spider-man affects Peter Parker's regular life. That was a little overplayed in the previous series, and the action (looking back now that Marvel has released some great action movies with other characters) looks a little kiddish. All around, it looks awesome.

I'm actually looking forward to it, but I'll also be treating it as a different universe. Sort of like with the comics themselves.

well i haven't seen the movie yet..maybe its just that i think it's better if he made the sequel instead of starting the story of spiderman all over again! xD
