Though I prefer talent sex does play a "BIG" hand in music today. But when your listening to the music you can't see them so I don't see what's the big point.

Sex may play a hand in media sales BUT Christina Aguilera has one of the best voices of all time~! I am a huge fan and that girl can sing....regardless if you like her or not, you have to admit that she actually has talent. She has blown me away with some of her live performances that I have seen on Youtube and I just think she is genuine and not a pretentious person...........that 's my opinion anyway...I watch her on The Voice and she seems truly genuine when she deal with the artist she picks and it has been a great way to see another side of her instead of the way she has been portrayed in the media as this "diva"..........granted she is in all positive meanings of that word :)

Christina Aguilera is a good singer. Not my type, but she has talent.

Does sex sell records? It sure does. For the past few decades, the recording industry has been using Auto Tune and editing to doctor up the voices of the most attractive people they can find. If they need plastic surgery, they get it done. If the results are good, they are worth a try. It helps if they can dance; bonus points for remembering the lyrics.

In the new economy, it's all about cheap/interchangeable labor. Any time the recording industry needs a new star, they can visit nearby strip clubs and look for people who can do Karaoke too.
