Bravo, "American Idol" -- your newest judge might be just the thing you need to revitalize your sagging show. Sources tell Us Weekly that Nicki Minaj will join Mariah Carey as a judge on the singing show next season.

"I'm not sure the deal is completely done yet, but yes, she is definitely doing it," an insider tells the mag. "A few more slight things to sign off on but it is happening." A second source says the rapper is "100% confirmed to judge American Idol."

The 29-year-old rapper's latest album, "Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded," debuted at No. 1 in April. She is also known for her crazy costumes, controversial performances and popularity among young people, not to mention her big mouth -- all of which could help draw much-needed eyeballs to "Idol." In fact, Minaj joked last season that she'd love to replace Jennifer Lopez as a judge -- guess she was serious! Do you think she's a good pick?

American Idol has given us great talent... I don't want to degrade its legitimacy.
I prefer Manaj as a freakish sideshow than a judge (serious or not).
only if Lady Gaga joins Manaj!

I just hate her. I really do. There are very few artists I completely despise (because really, I don't know them personally, and many I don't even listen to their music), but she's on that list. I despise how her "music" is shoved down my throat, even when I try to avoid it, because she's talentless. I hate seeing her plastic face, obnoxious wardrobe, and gigantic arse all over the news. There are many more talented, true artists out there worth paying attention to, and the media devotes itself to this classless whore. It's beyond annoying.

Just a thought, but it might help to add a judge who's both sane and can actually sing (well) to the show; Nicki Minaj doesn't file under either of those categories.
