Nicki Minaj has admitted that she’s worried she’ll lose fans over her “American Idol” work. The rapper and pop star is set to debut as a judge on the show on January 16, but is concerned that she’ll come across as mean and unpleasant.

During her appearance on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show on Monday, she admitted that she’s “scared,” saying “Maybe I shouldn't have been so like... It's hard for me to not say how I really feel.” Comparing herself to the other judges, she said that 'Everyone else is so nice. I was just thinking back about some things and I was like, "I wonder if that was not so nice."
In fact, Nicki’s so scared that she doesn’t think she’s “going to be able to watch it,” because she’s “going to be so nervous.” But she’s still adamant that brutal honesty is the best policy, saying that “'As an artist I've always grown more from the tougher criticism and so I would like to be that person and to try to help people get that thick skin and to really give it their all, because it is a competition.” Do you think that tough criticism is the best way?

On another note, tough criticism can be good or bad. If it's constructive and people can learn from it, than it's great criticism. If it's criticism just to be mean, than no, it's not going to help anyone and whoever is dishing it out just looks like a dick.
