Nicki Minaj Drops Twitter: Have You Deactivated a Twitter or Facebook Account?

Nicki Minaj's latest album, "Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded," sold an impressive 253,000 copies in its first week, but she's still upset about something. The pop diva deactivated her Twitter account on Sunday, but the reason behind the drop isn't entirely clear. The explanation she left was vague, but it may have something to do with a fan site that reportedly leaked some of her songs.

According to The New York Daily News, Minaj accused NickiDaily.com of leaking songs from her new album and ended up blocking the site's Twitter account. Shortly after that, she wrote, "And that’s exactly why I'm paying the barbz DUST right now! And deleting my twitter. Smdh – don't cry 4 me argentina. Like seriously, it's but so much a person can take. Good f—--ing bye." Regardless of Nicki Minaj's reason, we expect some of you have had a similar urge to drop your social media. If so, let us know why!

After deleting both due to a ton of drama, I realized that I spent at least 3 hours a day on Facebook alone. I've been social network sober for almost a year now, thank God. Now I actually have extra time on my hands.

Never. Only because I've never felt the need for either of them. I'm secure enough in my life to avoid even telephones as much as possible--and to depend on good "old-fashioned" e-mail to stay in touch with people truly important to me.

I got 6 of porn tweets within 8 hours of signing up with Twitter - I canceled it
The only reason I have Facebook is because my sister set it up and now I use it to play word games with my friends overseas

I've deactivated facebook a few times but the only thing about doing that is, none of my friends have other networking sites, I use tumblr though and I can contact on there as well.

Well, not exactly deactivated (not yet anyway). One of my classes this semester required us to submit certain homework assignments through Twitter and as soon as those assignments are graded, I'm going to deactivate my account. I'm not deactivating my Facebook though--too many friends that I don't get to see in person often enough on there.

I actually just resigned up as a friend kept posting stuff there that I wanted to see.
This would be my second account though. I dropped the first one years ago as I lost interest.

Facebook and Twitter are both useless. I first joined Facebook in 2008, in addition to MySpace. At first, Facebook was alright, but I got tired of the changes that were taking place, and the confusion behind them. Not to mention the privacy violations. I don't think Facebook or any site for that matter has the right to keep my personal information. Twitter - don't make me laugh. I quit Twitter almost as soon as I joined it, and posted a few threads. I think Facebook and Twitter (as well as many other social networking sites) should be shutdown. I think there are more constructive ways to pass the time.

i deactivated my fb account because its really all about ego imo, nobody cares what you ate for lunch lol and think about it if you have 900 million people with an account thats sum matrix type stuff

See, I don't think FB has to be all about ego--it's all about how you use it. I generally use it to talk to friends I never get to see and to hear what's going on with my relatives who live in another country--it's the easiest way to stay in touch with them when there's a ten hour or so timezone difference. *shrug* Just my two cents, but to each his own.
