The NFL Draft was underway Thursday night. The annual spectacle and make-or-break night for many football teams saw some predictable moves, unexpected drops in rounds, and even some humor. While the New York City crowd was respectful most of the night, they did give NFL commissioner Roger Goodell a bit of a hard time with some fun “What?!” chants in between his pauses. Maybe they thought it was the WWE Draft.
Of course as many predicted days leading up to Thursday night, the top two quarterbacks were selected No. 1 and 2.
Andrew Luck was selected first by the Indianapolis Colts and
Robert Griffin III was selected as No. 2 overall by the Washington Redskins. After failing to sign any relevant free agent, the Miami Dolphins drafted Texas A & M QB Ryan Tannehill, who the general manager claims has as much talent as the first two picks. Guess we'll see about that.
The Cleveland Browns surprised their fans by drafting Oklahoma State QB Brandon Weeden -- going against their word when they told current starter Colt McCoy they weren't drafting that position in round one.
The steal of the draft may have been Syracuse defensive end Chandler Jones, who fell down a few spots from where he was predicted to go (the New England Patriots selected him 21st overall.) At 6'5” with great reach, Jones seems to have the physical tools his famous brothers, Baltimore Ravens player Arthur Jones and UFC light heavyweight champion Jon “Bones” Jones, possess. That all being said, did your team make the right pick? Or is the best to come in the later rounds?
plus the ticket prices are out of sight.
the college football game is far more exciting and fun to watch
same goes for college basket ball far better game than da pros & ticket prices are within range of fans
The result? Well, so far, we are in first place. That hasn't happened since 2006.
