Some games may need to be censored and todays rating system is inadequate and unenforced. The players themselves are to blame sometimes. If they know they are too young for a game and sneak around their parents to a friend's house to play it the blame is on them. They are old enought to know better.

o.k. one all games have volence to they need to stop blaming games when the games say for M for mature the only thing that is closest to reality is grand theft auto but thats about stuff that go's on now nobody is going to get a space gun and kill everybody to save the world army games are just heros of their country defending their nation. and the only people who do start violence is they crazy people who all some how had the same mental issues and kids who like to tuoch dangerous things because they know what it is and what it can do. and the heart broken or drug at it people who burn the appartment building down trying to do something stupid.

Then you should ban movies and books too because most of them are violent.

Its not just games it the parents who let them play games that desensitize people to violence. That leave their kids with a with a xbox to teach them social skills. And bullys that do not realize the only social interaction that these kids get are negative. The combination of only view of everyone being negative and not being opposed to violence. And being pretty crazy due to a fluke in genetics being crazy enough.

As for smut and violence in video games in movies. If we do not consume these products we dry up the demand and there is no reason to manufacturer it anymore. Secondly they already ban kids from purchasing these products. The access to these things are given by parents.

If liberals had there way of banning guns and video games(while not a complete ban just all the biggest sellers). You are talking about the biggest sellers of two of the bigger American industry's. Every year we lose more and more of the auto industry and in between government bailouts and outsourcing. America doesn't receive any of that income it all goes in a rich guys bank account(while there is jobs provided they are fastly shrinking). While games and guns provide manufacturing jobs design jobs distribution.

Its a great way to put even more people out of work. Ive said it once before do not blame the games blame the parents that do not talk to their kids and would rather put blame on another source then them self's. Didn't we go through this with "violent music." Oh and years ago it was books yeah burn the books those evil things. I believe the same people that blame video games would have burned a human alive for being a witch.

if they are going to ban violent video games, then what? ban violent tv shows to? any tv shows with guns? in my opinion those are some of the only good ones. then we'll be stuck with stupid reality shows.
there are ratings for a reason. if anything, its the parents who buy COD for 6 year olds to be blamed.

the games are olny but a scapegoat, the shows and the public violance is the real problem. if there are cases of this happening then there are few and they were quickly swept under the rug moreso by the people that have problems then decided to kill other people to fix them. i dont ever think that it will ever come to the point where it will become common news that somebody got shot because they did it on a videogame

You can see violence on tv shows, on the news, at the local biker bar, and yes video games too. The thing is you can't blame these things for being what they are. You can blame the parents that willingly allow, or even don't pay enough attention to notice what there children watch play or go.

The people of today's society are messed up. How can you all of the sudden blame a video game for all of the violence? Everyone seems to blame video games for all of the violence that they create. It is not the game's fault, it is the person playing the games fault. To me, nimrods just want to use that as an excuse just because they truly have no reason, We have entered a society that has truly lost it's way.

Just another cop out to avoid dealing with the real causes of violence in society. No different than the parents of the suicidal child who wanted to blame Ozzy's song for their child taking their own .

The simple truth is that these games are played by kids worldwide, often in countries with a large number of guns in the public. Yet no country has anywhere near the per-capita incidence of violence that America has. So logic tells us that the video games, and even the number of guns, are not the real problem.

I think a ban on compulsive, slavemaster control freaks would be better--i.e., pretty much anyone in or around government.

If we're going to ban violent video games, why stop there what about violent movies and books? Maybe we should burn them all in center of town. Then we could ban violent sports. Or maybe, just maybe we could take responsibility for our actions and hold others accountable for theirs. Yeah I like that idea better.

No they should not be banned. As long as the players have a healthy mental state it doesn't affect them.

Please. tell me what version of Call of Duty has you expelling a foreign invader from your home? For that is the only 'moral' war there is. My guess is that you are vicariously living out immoral military aggression with you 'moral game'.

But I still don't think that will turn you into a killer... unless of course it encourages you to enlist in the military.

Video games aren't real, whereas I have seen some pretty violent (and real) news clips/photos. Maybe we should just ban both and have censorship equivalent to North Korea.

Not a chance! I would have killed hundreds if that were the case. If anything I say they give most people a chance to release pent up stress and aggression thereby preventing a violent meltdown in real life.

Some time ago wanted some German TV viewers the removal of this brutal stuff here
they feared it leads the children to imitate that (like throwing big rocks on their brothers ore sisters, but than they do not pop back like coyote...)

forbid the forbidders and teach the children what is behind the films, how they are made and where the risks are when viewing them unaccompanied. That helps more. The most of them learn what is a better game
