It's only been a week since the first one, but "Star Trek: Into Darkness," the highly anticipated sequel to "Star Trek," now has a second teaser trailer.

The moody trailer features appearances from many characters from the first film, such as Chris Pine as Captain James T. Kirk and Zachary Quinto as Mr. Spock, as well as new characters like "Sherlock" star Benedict Cumberbatch as the mysterious "John Harrison" and Alice Eve as Dr. Carol Marcus.

There's also plenty of tense action and stunning special effects, as well as little moments for fans such as a scene where two people touch hands in a way similar to the classic film "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan."

When it was released in 2009, "Star Trek" became a huge success, earning $385.7 million worldwide and earning four Academy Award nominations.

Are you excited about "Star Trek: Into Darkness?"

JJ took a great "universe", killed it, resurrected it and then killed it again.

As a life long Trek fan, the Star Trek of Gene Roddenberry is dead

This is has got to be the best ensemble for a reboot movie ever. They not only look enough like the original, but out act them on their worst day! Yay! Shatner... was ok... as an actor... but Chris Pine and the relationship of his name to Chris Pike of "The Cage" is too good to be true!

Paramount removed the video trailer from this website -- Soda---- was my first inclination that there even WAS yet another new Star Trek. However, if it's as disappointing as the most recent movie was, I agree: the Star Trek of Gene Roddenbury is dead. But, since there's money to be made, those who own the franchise will attempt to bleed it worse than dry... and that's always a shameful choice. But -- what good ever really comes from Hollywood? Not much!

As a Trekkie I am apprehensive about this whole matter.

The photo above reminds me of Batman.

It just looks so awesome. It looks so dark, we're going to have more depth, the conflict will be greater, there will be no holds barred, heavy prices will be paid and the characters, especially by the actors who've played them are perfectly chosen to enact the story they've been given, really look as if they're in trouble or ready to kick some ass.

I can't wait to see Benedict Cumberbatch's villain, I think he was very well chosen. He has such an ominous voice, but also looks smooth at the same time. I guarantee that this will be one of the best films of 2013, the story looks well played out and hopefully the chemistry will be top-notch. In every way this looks like it could blow everyone away.

I'm more anxious for the movie itself to come out!!! They did a pretty good job on the first one and I want to see how they do on the second. Since I fast forward through commercials I don't see trailers anyway...

I have always loved Star Trek. It is interesting to see the evolution of the series from the kind of 60's culture, with bouffant hairdos and boots with short skirts on the women, (who had more stereotypical roles), through the Second Generation and all the movies that followed that gave them more equal roles and much more social themes

Glad to hear they got through the difficulties and were able to get into production. Don't mind the reboot part; the original actors are now much older and several have passed on - there's really no way around it if the franchise is to continue.

Let me get this straight. I can't view the trailer because Paramount has filed a copyright notice on it.
Hello morons! It's a trailer! You want the widest circulation you can possibly get, so more people come to watch the movie! Whose advise are you taking? Time-Warner's?
