A new study shows that parrots have an "intense dislike" of dance music according to an article published in the Applied Animal Behaviour Science journal.
NME reports, "The birds, from a popular breed of pet parrot, both bobbed their heads along to rock and folk music but were left distressed by electronic dance music."
Specifically the parrots in the study preferred U2, UB40, Joan Baez and Bach, but would start screaming in distress as soon as it switched to The Chemical Brothers or The Prodigy. The study also found that the parrots preferred music with vocals over instrumentals.
