Meet SodaHead's new favorite artist of the week! Last week, we introduced you to San Diego local Low Volts (aka Tim Lowman), and this week we're proud to present The Helio Sequence. The Helio Sequence is a Portland-based duo signed to Sub Pop Records (labelmates include The Shins, Fleet Foxes and Band of Horses). They've been around since 1999, and now -- one vocal injury, two record labels, four albums, and one flooded studio later -- they're ready to release their fifth studio album titled Negotiations on September 11, 2012.
Check out The Helio Sequence's new single "Hall of Mirrors" below. It's a trance-inducing track with a calming groove and bewitching melody. Their sound is decidedly spacey and ethereal, which coupled with their lyrics ("Walking out in the hall of mirrors, going round in the ether") begets an otherworldly feel. Enjoy and don't forget to let us know what you're listening to this week!
