Meet SodaHead's new favorite artist! This week, we can't get enough of the Colourist, an indie band from Costa Mesa, California. If you dig catchy, evocative pop tunes that transcend the flippant monotony of radio -- think Modest Mouse, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Phoenix -- this project is right up your alley. Drummer Maya Tuttle and guitarist Adam Castilla trade dreamy lyrical hooks while Justin Wagner and Kollin Johannsen drive nostalgic instrumentals to provide listeners with a pleasant, upbeat, cathartic experience.
Their latest music video, directed by Bucky Fukumoto of Morrissey fame, is for "Wishing Wells," a song that doesn't appear on their debut four-track EP. Lyrically, it's a plea for emotional serenity in a relationship ("If you don't know what you're looking for, just follow what you feel; I don't know you very well, soon I'll find out who you really are") and makes for a brilliant introduction to their sound. It's the perfect way to kick off their June residency at the Bootleg Bar in Los Angeles. Their live shows have a tendency to knock the socks off of unsuspecting audiences, and they've shared dates with The Arcade Fire, Grouplove, and Young the Giant. Check out the video and let us know if you can relate to the lyrics!

not having heard the song, cannot actually make an educated comment on it.
But I can comment on the few lyrics ..mentioned...in the song. Come on People..
what the he** is happening?
I am sure with the voting average here it may indeed be something worth listening too, probably on account of the music, That remains to be heard.
I will give the few lyrics mentioned in the song, a vote of colourless! The music must be quite good to get away with such simple lyrics.
The best lyrics were written in the 2000's, The talent in writers was at its highest bloom.
amazing actually. Well of course that would be pop and soft rock for moi.
As the later 2000's approached....it was like the whole world had writers block.....
but is yet to be seen or rather heard.
:)
My wishing well still prefers coins from At The Drive In.
What the hell are they thinking? :)
