Meet SodaHead's new favorite artist of the week! Last week we introduced you to Dead Sara and this week we're excited about Gary Clark Jr.
Native Texan Gary Clark Jr. has been called many things recently, from a "savior of blues" to "the chosen one," and compared to iconic musicians including past guitar gods and R & B greats. You can chalk this up to any number of factors -- his powerful live performances, his riveting guitar solos, his soulful vocals... the list goes on. I'll just call it what it is: talent.
Gary Clark Jr.'s first major label album Blak and Blu was released on October 22 and already it's one of my favorites of the year. It's a testament to his ability to write and perform a wide variety of songs (and do it well), rather than developing one signature sound -- a rare and impressive feat these days.
