Meet SodaHead's new favorite artist of the week! Last week, we introduced you to
Michael Kiwanuka and this week we've been digging Australian singer-songwriter
Emma Louise. Emma's debut EP
Full Hearts & Empty Rooms received critical acclaim after its international release in 2011, and is continuing to dominate the AIR Independent Distro charts. It was released earlier this year in the US and she is quickly building buzz; you might recognize her songs from placements on MTV and Grey's Anatomy.
Emma Louise's music has an ethereal quality to it, resulting in comparisons to Bat for Lashes and Florence and the Machine, but Emma has a sweetness and intimacy that sets her apart from her contemporaries. Check out the video for her hit single "Jungle" in which she tells of the complexity and confusion that comes with relationships; the internal struggle that ensues when two imperfect people love each other but cause each other pain. Hope you enjoy and don't forget to let us know what you're listening to this week!
But anyway... currently I'm listening to Post Human Era.
