Honestly he did some good things and some pretty terrible things. He was basically a guerilla, and advocated massive violence and espoused Fidel Castro as a hero and someone that should be supported. He plotted blow up buildings and school buses.
I am glad that he ended Apartheid which was a shame upon the earth, but he has turned a blind eye to the violence against whites as revenge for the many years of Apartheid. As long as race on race violence is ignored, and even silently cheered I am afraid I cannot find him inspirational.

Your ignorance is selective and convenient.
Moslem Arabs began selling African Blacks to the Chinese and others in the latter 630s. Moslem Arabs sent more African Blacks were sent East that West. When the Europeans colonized Africa they put an end to slavery. When these countries became independent again in the 1960s, slavery resumed and their are more slaves in the world than at any time previously.
The reason the Euros began colonizing Africa was because of Moslem Arab slave capturing raids as far north as Norway, northern Scotland and northern Ireland.
Moslem Arabs took more slaves out of Eastern Europe (Slavic countries) than Blacks out of Africa. Slavs - Slaves get it.
Abd is Arabic for black and also for slave.
Mandela is good buddies with Moslem Arabs. Mandela supports Bashir of the Sudan who has killed over 3 million Sudanese since 1989, most of them Black.

The challenge is to create a single, nondiscriminatory, nonracial system that offers the same standards of education to all people."
I'm glad he helped end the apartheid, which discriminated greatly against Black Africans that lasted til 1991. That being said, those currently in South Africa who seek revenge should think twice. Two wrongs do not make a right and inflicting the same pain that was brought upon you will not heal your pain or make the world a better place.
