Sorry guys -- Natalie Portman is officially off the market. The beautiful Oscar-winner tied the knot on Saturday night with her fiancé of two years, French dancer and choreographer Benjamin Millepied, a source confirmed for People.

natalie portman

Portman, 31, met Millepied, 35, on the set of "Black Swan," where he was a choreographer. In December 2010, the couple announced they were engaged and expecting their first child. Their son, Aleph, is now 14 months old.

We're happy for Natalie, who's been brimming with happiness since the day she announced her engagement. But we have to wonder ... can a Hollywood marriage even last? Especially when she is so much more famous than he is?

Portman is different because she is not only beautiful ...she is brilliant and she will realize, unlike many actresses, that a happy family life is more important than a happy famous career. I wouldn't be surprised to see her disappear out of the limelight.

So few celebrity marriages last. This one will not, either.

Same concept, more public arena. It's not like every Hollywood marriage has ever failed.

I with that anonymous from V for Vandetta didn't die. They would have made a cut couple.

Millepied....now that I think about it the literal translation would be mille (thousand) pied (foot)....Kind of funny considering he's a dancer.

It can definitely work! It just depends on how hard each party is willing to work to MAKE IT work.

I don't know why the word "Hollywood" is even in the question -- plenty of non-Hollywood marriages break up every day, to the tune of a 51% divorce rate. If the people entering the union are committed, loving, honest and faithful, then any marriage can work.

Unfortunately they can't if they stay working in Hollywood. That lifestyle does not keep anything sacred. If you watch the films from there, you get a GOOD understanding why it does not work.

The ones that last are the ones that aren't constantly in the spotlight. Kyra Sedgwick and Kevin Bacon seem to be doing pretty well 22 years later.

When they do last, as in they're married for about 5+ years then issues and divorce come up, it's as rare as flying pigs or talking animals. I'm not trying to curse their marriage, but the media loves to gobble up marriage/divorce stories to a point it's almost crude. You must admit, Hollywood couples and such are not known for fulfilling and lasting relationships or marriages. In fact, Hollywood just seems to be there to look pretty and carrying the largest supply of ignorant and cocky and arrogant people nowadays.

Talent---while there, of course---is quite rare. Since there's no such thing as originality (everything has been done before at some point), quality counts a lot. Those are rare, too. Hollywood's just glitz, glam, and stories. Old Hollywood is much better, I think. I do love the movies, shows, books, stars we have today don't get me wrong, but some of it, like that God-awful Jersey Shore, is disgraceful.

President Ronald Reagan married Nancy Davis. Nancy starred in Donovan's Brain, Night into Morning, and Hellcats of the Navy before she married the Hollywood actor and SAG labor union president.

They enjoyed one of the happiest and most loving marriages talked about in the 20th Century. Their marriage lasted because of their love, sacrifice and sharing of deep values. Many Hollywood celebs practice more narcissism today.

If anyone, I think Natalie Portman could make it last. She doesn't get in trouble with the law, she rarely has a scandal, she's a brilliant actress and seems really nice and funny in interviews. Also, she seems to have a lot of respect for herself, so I don't think she'd even consider dating a man who is so shallow and sexist he would mind that she earned more money than him or was more famous.

They can, but they have to be really willing to work hard at it and commit themselves, perhaps even more so than the average couple.

Of course they can. You just never hear about them when they do.
