NASCAR drivers Johnson, Denny Hamlin, Jeff Gordon, Clint Bowyer, Jeff Burton and Matt Kenseth declined an invitation from President Obama to the White House. They declined the White House visit due to "schedule conflicts." Kyle Busch originally declined, but later cleared up a scheduling conflict to attend.

1. To put them on his campaign poster like they support him? Maybe they don't. Does anyone have any idea what these guys go through during a week just to prep for a race? Obama certainly doesn't. The fans do.
2. To make it look like Obama supports Nascar and all it stands for? That would be a lie. He wouldn't go there because he would be boooed out of the state--whatever state the race was being held in and he knows it.
So really, why would he want them to be there at the WH, in the middle of their racing season, in the summer when it's the height of their work?
3. Because it's all--about--HIM.
I have to Applaud their wonderful decision to decline the invitation and show him they wont be used for political promotion tools.......... which is why they were actually invited.
They're American and they have the right to decline the invitation. But I still consider it disrespectful.
