It's sad she die and may she rest in peace but me personally I did not know her, and she didn't inspire me to do anything. For those who did, I can see why they feel so deeply.

I'm more affected by children dying in Africa, because they have no money or food. Even if my favorite star died, I wouldn't take it personally. That's just pointless. 2 people I knew died in the past 6 months, and they're the ones that affected me.

I'm not a member of twitter, nor I listened to Whitney Houstons music.
Honestly, I couldn't say the world lost a genius .
But the world has lost one more person .

It is always sad to see someone die , but to die means that you had life . WH had a life with great opportunities , she took advantage of many of those opportunities and lived her life.

Why would it affect me? I wasn't her mother, brother, daughter, sister, cousin, friend, neighbor, or her assistant. I feel bad, but so many people die everyday in poverty, wars, gang related shootings, murder, disease and other sad circumstances; but these people aren't famous! Again, any death is sad but like Michael Jackson't death, Whitney's death did not shock me the least bit. One thing I know for sure is that the Entertainment shows (ET/Access/the Insider) are going to have a field day with this! I can see Billy Bush salivating over this! We will see Whitney's footage on a loop; from early days to death! They will relate this incident to Michael Jackson, Amy Winehouse, Anna Nicole Smith and probably Demi Moore! Every jackass medical expert along with Dr. Drew will try to give their two cents on drugs and alcohol abuse in Hollywood. Then, ad nauseam, everyone and their mothers will have a tribute concert for their own benefit! Yuck! When it comes to a celebrity's death or public demise, the entertainment shows are bunch of swines!

    RIP Whitney!

I believe that Whitney was a sister in Christ, who had fallen into troubles. It saddens me because this beautiful person is gone from this earth and because her family (especially her mother and daughter) is hurting so much.

When I heard the news, I couldn't even believe it. It seemed so unreal. I had no idea that Whitney meant this much to me. It wasn't like other celebrities deaths where I just said, "Oh, that's sad" and then went on with my life. This time I feel something very deep and emotional.

Not personally. I mean my parents were huge fans, so I basically grew up to the sound of her voice. But I mean I didn't know her so I can't have that big of an effect.

Most of these artists probably didn't know Whitney Houston or care that much, but their PR managers told them to use social media to get attention.

I believe Smokey Robinson and those that personally knew Whitney.

Personally? No. Did her voice touch me, her songs give me the chills and bring me to tears at times when I heard her sing ..Yes! In my opinion she was a voice in which most can only dream of having, many so fortunate to hear and all which will sadly miss and always remember. A woman of her time and now she shall sing in the heavenly choir!
RIP beautiful and talented Whitney, you left your mark and now all your struggles shall be gone.

She was one of my favorite singers. She was so talented and amazing. Her voice just blew me away, and I don't know why many people didn't care of show any feelings when she died. I will miss her, that's for sure. I never expected it to happen so soon. Whitney Huston R.I.P. Whitney... It actually gets me mad seeing people be jerks.

No, but it is sad. She used to have the best voice in the biz, and it's such a shame that she's gone now.

Nonsense, she was just another over-paid screaming drug addict. "Best voice in the biz?" get real. Incidentally, had she sung just the same, but been white, would you have said that? No, I didn't think so.
  • running... Peter76 2012/02/14 15:51:59

Actually, I might have. She had a beautiful voice and excellent control over it: you hardly ever see that in a pop artist. She had an excellent sense of musicality, melody, and knew when to embellish and when to sing straight tones. That's not an over-paid screaming drug addict, that's a singer who knows how to use her instrument.

So, yeah, best voice in the biz until she got herself involved with drugs.

You should have been greatly affected if you count Elvis as someone that moved you. He was a JUNKIE too for years before he died on his toilet of a drug overdose. Seems to me they are all behaving in the same selfish and stupid way.

I didn't say he wasn't a junkie. I felt he wasted his talent by getting involved in drugs just as Whitney did. I was not a Whitney fan. Sorry if you disapprove.
