MTV to Air Reruns of 'Daria': Should They Revive the Show?

Following the successful return of "Beavis and Butt-head," MTV will start airing reruns of Glenn Eichler's spin-off series "Daria" from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. daily between July 30 and August 3, capping the network's "Retro Mania" summer block. Who knows, maybe if the reception is strong, they'll be able to revive that show, too.

"Daria," an animated series starring Daria Morgendorffer, a teenage intellectual cynic, originally ran from 1997 to 2002. The character first appeared as a recurring character on "Beavis and Butt-head," though Mike Judge was not involved in the series. Like "Beavis and Butt-head," "Daria" featured contemporary music, and the main character frequently commented on pop culture from an outsider perspective. Do you think MTV should order new episodes?

Or, it could indicate that your exposure to the show is severely limited Compare to 'Jersey Shore,' 'Beavis & Butthead,' and other shows on the channel, and it is far more intelligent. It's not 'Frasier,' but then, what is? That said, I find it amusing that my intelligence is being insulted by someone who can't properly punctuate a sentence.

Because MTV's current airings are worse than anything they could possibly revive. I've never watched "Daria", but I've heard from people who liked it and people who hated it, and whether you like it or not, it's definitely better than MTV's current lineup. Not that it takes much effort to be. :S

You know what they should revive?

Ha yeah but they haven't played any newer episodes only 12 and that was in 2011. The show was scheduled to have 65 episodes.

They are back, and the show is basically the same....in fact when they do the scenes watching the videos they recycled the old episode's background images. I watched a couple of episodes because I was feeling nostalgic when I saw it was on, I can't watch it anymore. However, I still very much enjoy Daria.

I saw it recently wasn't as funny as I remember it. So is this what (M)TV has resulted to; reviving everything they use to play BUT music videos?! That makes perfect sense....

Am I still, after all these years, the only person who absolutely HATES this show? I know, I know, its funny because of all the stereotypes blah blah blah. Its stupid and Daria's smart ass and depressing remarks to everyhing around her are supposed to be funny, but they aren't. Every character on that show is annoying to watch and yet Daria is supposed to be the voice of reason. She's like Snuffleupagus wearing a human suit.
