Following the successful return of "Beavis and Butt-head," MTV will start airing reruns of Glenn Eichler's spin-off series "Daria" from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. daily between July 30 and August 3, capping the network's "Retro Mania" summer block. Who knows, maybe if the reception is strong, they'll be able to revive that show, too.
"Daria," an animated series starring Daria Morgendorffer, a teenage intellectual cynic, originally ran from 1997 to 2002. The character first appeared as a recurring character on "Beavis and Butt-head," though Mike Judge was not involved in the series. Like "Beavis and Butt-head," "Daria" featured contemporary music, and the main character frequently commented on pop culture from an outsider perspective. Do you think MTV should order new episodes?

Thanks for nuthin', MTV!
A music video or song video is a short film integrating a song and imagery, produced for promotional or artistic purposes. Modern music videos are primarily made and used as a marketing device intended to promote the sale of music recordings. Although the origins of music videos date back much further, they came into prominence in the 1980s, when MTV based their format around the medium. Prior to the 1980s, these works were described by various terms including "illustrated song", "filmed insert", "promotional (promo) film", "promotional clip" or "film clip".
In 1964, The Beatles starred in their first feature film A Hard Day's Night, directed by Richard Lester. Shot in black-and-white and presented as a mock documentary, it was a loosely structured musical fantasia interspersing comedic and dialogue sequences with musical ones. The musical sequences furnished basic templates on which countless subsequent music videos were modeled. It was the direct model for the successful US TV series The Monkees (1966–1968) which similarly consisted of film segments that were created to accompany various Monkees songs.
I like Daria, and I like Mike Judge's other show. But we are not that generation and we should quit acting like it.
Or better yet, we should stop letting our generation define who we are.
God I love her
