  2. Breakthrough Performance, Melissa McCarthy, "Bridesmaids"

    Breakthrough Performance, Melissa McCarthy, "Bridesmaids"

Even if you thought "Bridesmaids" was a little overrated (we're in that camp), you couldn't help but laugh at McCarthy's hysterical (and Oscar-nominated) antics.

  3. Best Female Performance, Jennifer Lawrence, "The Hunger Games"

Best Female Performance, Jennifer Lawrence, "The Hunger Games"

Move over, K-Stew: "The Hunger Games" created a new hyphenated superstar in J-Law.

  4. Best Cast, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2"

Best Cast, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2"

What better way to say goodbye to the beloved Potter cast than to hand them a golden popcorn trophy?

  5. Best Kiss, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1"

Best Kiss, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1"

Um, they did a lot more than kiss, but if "Breaking Dawn" didn't put you in the mood for romance, nothing will.

  6. Best On-Screen Transformation, Michelle Williams, "My Week With Marilyn"

Best On-Screen Transformation, Michelle Williams, "My Week With Marilyn"

Golden Globe-winner Michelle Williams dazzles us in the trailer alone. Her acting just keeps getting better and better.

  7. Best On-Screen Dirt Bag, Colin Farrell, "Horrible Bosses"

Best On-Screen Dirt Bag, Colin Farrell, "Horrible Bosses"

He usually plays the hunky leading man, which made Colin Farrell that much more hilarious in "Horrible Bosses."

It's that time of year again! The 2012 MTV Movie Award nominees have been announced, and voting is already under way to determine who will win a coveted Golden Popcorn trophy on June 3!

A few of the nominations had us scratching our heads (Liam Hemsworth for "The Hunger Games"? He was in it it for like five minutes!), but we're already rooting for our favorites in quite a few categories. Like "The Hunger Games" for best movie, of course, and its heroine Jennifer Lawrence for best female performance.

Even if you thought "Bridesmaids" was a little overrated (we're in that camp), you couldn't help but laugh at Melissa McCarthy's hysterical (and Oscar-nominated) antics. So she's our pick in the breakthrough performance category. And if the "Breaking Dawn" kiss didn't put you in the mood for romance, nothing will.

From "The Hunger Games" to "Harry Potter," click through our slideshow and let us know: Who are you rooting for at the MTV Movie Awards?

It's time Harry Potter got a good award, dang it!!

However I have a feeling it will be Hunger Games, which I haven't seen. But I'll take it over BLECHING Dawn.

I loved the movie!!!! It would be awesome if it got "Movie of the Year" Anyways, they deserve it.
Also, I had a huge debate between Jennifer for Best Female Actress and " Hunger Games" for Movie of the Year...I'm still going to be rooting for Jennifer Lawrence! She did awesome! She was also beautiful yet strong!

Wow..They really do look a lot like each other. The one thing that needs to be fixed, is Bristol should have "Katniss' Scowl". ^_^

You bet! I'd prefer Bristol without a scowl though. The scowl suits Jennifer.

I feel bad because I haven't even seen the whole movie, I just watched a few clips of it. I probably should have voted for Emma Watson. Yeah, I'll go do that.

Anyway, I vote Ron and Hermione for Best Kiss! Seriously, there was an applause when that scene played in the theater. Not to mention that it's just a beautiful scene.

    "Bridesmaids"?
    Seriously?
That's the only DVD I've ever rented that I didn't bother finish watching.
    I had more important things to do . . . such as . . .
anything other than wasting my time watching that.

You know, I didn't even really like the movie all that much, but now that awards season has come and gone I think it was probably snubbed more than it needed to be. It's time for this movie to win a real award. >_>

MTV has a habit of awarding anything that exposes Homosexuality, if any movie has a Gay or Lesbian character it will win an MTV award. Boring and predictable!

Those awards suck now because teanage girls have NO taste and vote for gay porn.
The winners used to be picked by the cool people. The MTV movie award was where the real movies won. Now its where the teenbeat movies win. What is WRONG with teenage girls?

harry potter is not crap to me... it's my whole childhood, the best thing that could happened to all of us who lived it. thank god harry potter exists. i don't know if i'd grown up like i did if harry potter wasn't beside me for 10 years. now that i'm studying to be a director i'm really watching new actors etc and i find Jennifer Lawrence... AMAZING. or not just amazing... but i don't think there is a word to discrabe her acting! haha
