  2. Breakthrough Performance, Melissa McCarthy, "Bridesmaids"

    Breakthrough Performance, Melissa McCarthy, "Bridesmaids"

Even if you thought "Bridesmaids" was a little overrated (we're in that camp), you couldn't help but laugh at McCarthy's hysterical (and Oscar-nominated) antics.

  3. Best Female Performance, Jennifer Lawrence, "The Hunger Games"

Best Female Performance, Jennifer Lawrence, "The Hunger Games"

Move over, K-Stew: "The Hunger Games" created a new hyphenated superstar in J-Law.

  4. Best Cast, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2"

Best Cast, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2"

What better way to say goodbye to the beloved Potter cast than to hand them a golden popcorn trophy?

  5. Best Kiss, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1"

Best Kiss, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1"

Um, they did a lot more than kiss, but if "Breaking Dawn" didn't put you in the mood for romance, nothing will.

  6. Best On-Screen Transformation, Michelle Williams, "My Week With Marilyn"

Best On-Screen Transformation, Michelle Williams, "My Week With Marilyn"

Golden Globe-winner Michelle Williams dazzles us in the trailer alone. Her acting just keeps getting better and better.

  7. Best On-Screen Dirt Bag, Colin Farrell, "Horrible Bosses"

Best On-Screen Dirt Bag, Colin Farrell, "Horrible Bosses"

He usually plays the hunky leading man, which made Colin Farrell that much more hilarious in "Horrible Bosses."

It's that time of year again! The 2012 MTV Movie Award nominees have been announced, and voting is already under way to determine who will win a coveted Golden Popcorn trophy on June 3!

A few of the nominations had us scratching our heads (Liam Hemsworth for "The Hunger Games"? He was in it it for like five minutes!), but we're already rooting for our favorites in quite a few categories. Like "The Hunger Games" for best movie, of course, and its heroine Jennifer Lawrence for best female performance.

Even if you thought "Bridesmaids" was a little overrated (we're in that camp), you couldn't help but laugh at Melissa McCarthy's hysterical (and Oscar-nominated) antics. So she's our pick in the breakthrough performance category. And if the "Breaking Dawn" kiss didn't put you in the mood for romance, nothing will.

It's time Harry Potter got a good award, dang it!!

However I have a feeling it will be Hunger Games, which I haven't seen. But I'll take it over BLECHING Dawn.

The Hunger Games are up for Movie of the Year??? Anyone who read the book will tell you there's no comparison; usually never is but this adaptation was worse than usual. A lot of background information was left out, characters that could have fleshed out the story were omitted or glossed over in character conversations, and really... Woody Harrelson as Haymitch??? Scott Glenn or Sam Elliot would have pulled that part off much better

Harry Potter definitely deserves to be recognized. I am a huge fan of Hunger Games as well but HP got snubbed at the Oscars so I want the movie to recieve some awards being the great film it was.

Jennifer Lawrence deserves Best Female Performance by far. She played Katniss to perfection.

I don't know I would like Hunger games to win something but I think Harry Potter deserves a award. The cast has worked hard yet they haven't won many awards this year. It's just not fair that such a great series and cast doesn't get much love from the award shows. Plus well Hunger games is good, Harry Potter is a freakin LEGEND.
series cast love award hunger games harry potter freakin legend

I voted for Melissa McCarthy, but what I really want to see is a re-creation of that magical moment two years ago when Sanda Bullock and Scarlett Johansson sucked face! They should be invited to kiss each other on every major award show, including the Oscars. The ratings will rival the ratings of the Super Bowl.

I was pleasantly surprised at how good the Hunger Games movie was. I was worried it was going to be another Twilight, something super popular, that doesn't deserve it. But it was very good! It was full of action, and had a good driving force. Definitely got my vote (:
