*---- BEST AIRCRAFT ----*
What your favorite aircraft from any science fiction movie or TV show? Here are a few of my favorites (check out the cool names):
1.) The Millenium Falcon from "Star Wars"
2.) The Batwing from Tim Burton's "Batman"
3.) The Nebuchadnezzar from "Matrix Reloaded"
4.) The Enterprise from "Star Trek"
5.) The Gunstar from "The Last Starfighter"
6.) The Thunderbolt Star Fury from "Babylon 5"
7.) The X-Wing from "Star Wars"
8.) The Battlestar Vipers
9.) Star Trek Shuttle pods
10.) and http://www.geektyrant.com/wp-... The Space Station Wheel of "2001: A Space Odyssey"
http://polyspline.com/images/...
They'd be as follows:
1) Mave Fighters
2)Whitestars
3) Vipers
4)The Destiny
5) Buck Rogers Starfighter
6)Stargate SG-1 Hybrid Fighter
7)Soverign Class Starship
8) Raptor Class
In many ways it is a comedic movie, but the particular image is from the tragic end of the film, when the spaceship Dark Star is blown up and the character "Talby" (who's long dreamed of surfing in California) at last gets to "surf" on a piece of the Dark Star into reentry and death. Touching.
BTW, both of my answers were in what I took to be the spirit of your question: favorite AIRCRAFT, as in spacecraft that are also winged aircraft and fly in atmospheres. I think that's a rather silly concept in reality, and absolutely terrible when they are shown to fly like an airplane in outer space. But, letting that go, I DO like Vipers best, plus, as I said elsewhere, at least the New Battlestar show shows them moving rather realistically when in space.
However, some folks here answered meaning their favorite SPACESHIPS of any kind. For that, I'd have to say the Discovery of "2001" (that's the one with the famous pod bay doors).
