Mötley Crüe Announce Massive Tour and Retirement: Will They Really Retire?

Mötley Crüe fans rejoice! But also get ready to mourn...The 1980s rockers simultaneously announced a massive North-America tour, a film adaptation of their 2002 book "The Dirt" and a country tribute album, along with their retirement. Wowza.

Seasoned music fans are used to riding this emotional roller coaster. By now, many of you know what it's like to hear your favorite band is retiring, go out and buy an expensive "farewell" tour ticket, and see their "final show"... only to watch them come out of retirement a couple years later. (NIN, anyone?) In fact this happens so frequently that you can't blame us for being skeptical when we read headlines like this one.

Singer Vince Neil want us to take their retirement seriously, however, and he recently told press, "We don't want to be one of those bands where one guy is left. We wanted to go out with the four founding members and go out on top." Additionally, they signed a legally binding agreement forbidding any of them from touring under the name Mötley Crüe individually.

What do you think, SodaHeads? Is this talk of retirement a gimmick to boost ticket sales? Or this the real deal? Let me know and if you're interested in learning more about their movie and country tribute dates, check out this article.

when the high light of the night is walking on a treadmill while playing guitar.......its embarrasing...and that was zz topp....motley crue doesnt even compare.

Mick Mars is sadly not gonna last much longer because of his disease. It sucks, but it's better that they end it now than keep going pretending everything's ok.

Key word individually. They'll come back together and keep touring.

Regardless I'll still go see them (but mainly for the opening acts)

Remember a few years back when Iron Maiden went on their 'farewell' tour?
    Guess what?... they never retired.

    Neither will these guys.
Give it a few years, they'll get board, then they'll be back.
    That's always how it happens.

they all have side projects. Tommy is a DJ, Nikki has got another band "Sixx:A.M." and a radio show Sixx Sence, Vince has his own name band and Mick is going with the flow

Those won't make alimony or child support payments. They were all too busy with their music to hire top notch divorce attorneys and got taken to the cleaners over and over.

I have heard this more than a few times from other music groups over the years, When there bank accounts get low, they will do another album and tour, And no one will remember they did this to begin with.

They're awesome, but I guess it's time to retire the band now. They really have good numbers out there. Hopefully they make a huge exploder of a tour. If it's their last one, they must pull out all the stops, all the techniques, and all the win.

Apparently, you were still swimming in your daddy's balls when I was living through the 80's speed-metal scene. It was highly Satanic. They didn't even attempt to hide it.
Don't tell me I don't know what I'm talking about. I was there.
