The Republican National Convention is in full swing, and everyone watching waited in anticipation for Tuesday's critical speech by Ann Romney -- wife of Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney. She talked passionately about her respect for the moms in this country and “a love so deep only a mother can fathom it.”
One day earlier, Mrs. Romney told “Entertainment Tonight” that her favorite TV show was “Modern Family.” The potential future first lady can clearly equate her life mothering five boys to the trials and tribulations of the Pritchard-Dunphy clan. But the comment had many wondering about the big, glaring, gay, white elephant in the room.
Since the show features two same-sex men in a relationship, raising a child, where does this show fit in to Romney’s belief system? Both she and her husband have repeatedly spoken out against gay marriage.
Creator and writer of “Modern Family,” Steve Levitan was happy to hear that he had such a high-profile fan, but could not let the issue slide. He tweeted, "Thrilled Ann Romney says ModFam is her favorite show. We'll offer her the role of officiant at Mitch & Cam's wedding. As soon as it's legal." What do you think: Was Levitan’s response to Ann Romney fair game or was it uncalled for?

When you make a big speech in front of people, of course you're going to get criticism, and when you're against two people getting married just because of their gender, of course you're going to get opposing views.
What I find mildly entertaining are some of the people here who are saying that Levitan shouldn't have made such a 'nasty remark.'
...But I don't see what's so nasty about it?
Oh, I understand why it's nasty now.
Because it doesn't matter if someone who is anti-gay marriage comments negatively. It's not a nasty remark then because they are just sharing their opinion and are promoting "WHOLESOME FAMILY VALUES"
But oh hEAVANS NO, if someone expresses their pro-gay marriage stance on Twitter then clearly they are attacking.

BUT GOD FOR BID YOU SPEAK OF THE POS in the WH WHO HAS DONE SO MANY THINGS WRONG OVER & OVER AGAIN. THE LIBERAL MEDIA IS & WILL ALWAYS WILL BE A BUNCH OF NO GOOD HYPOCRITE DOUCHE BAGS !!
Theres been so much rhetoric on the issue that some people can't understand this simple fact. Republicans and Democrats can be friends. Its not criminal.
Idiots like you lie to yourselves so you don't feel like the bullies you whine about all the time but clearly homoactivists are the biggest bullies in America.
When you vandalize a church, it's not a hate crime...it's expression.
When you smear a person of honor, it's not hate...it's justice.
It's all about emotion with you tools.
The day will come when the right gets tired of getting kicked around.
2. If I smear anyone, it's because they deserve it. If a politician stands up and says that marriage should be between a man and a woman because his religion says so, then he is clearly allowing his religion to direct public policy. Anytime a politician allows his religion to dictate public policy it is a problem because the laws of this country need to respect everyone's religious beliefs or lack thereof.
3. Emotion? Of course there's a lot of emotion. People want the right to marry the person they love and they're denied all around the country. I could see someone being angry if we were trying to take the rights of other away, but we're just trying to gain an equal footing.
4. The day will come when LGBT people have equal rights and will be able to marry in any state they choose. Then when it happens and the world doesn't end, the right can be reminded of how silly and stupid they were trying to prevent it.
