Modern Electronic Music vs Country...

Depends on the artist.
There are a lot of terriable Country and Electronic bands out there, just as both have their gems.
I choose electronic because it is still growing; country's bigest artist is dead and I do not forsee someone better comming along.

There have been times in my life when I could have said "both", as well as one or the other at times. Now, they are both kind of far down the list. Country has always had just a very few artists that get through to me, and electronic music has been a yawner for me since, I don't know, 1979? When most of the real innovators and creative people who also were knowledgeable about music itself, (Vangelis, Jean Michelle Jarre, Larry Fast, Walter/Wendy Carlos, Tomita, Tangerine Dream etc.) were pushed aside by the atonal, non melodic mood people and beat and dance enthusiasts. The most interesting period for electronic music imo was like 72 - 79 or so for me

I rather like a lot of the electronic music that's out now. But I really can't say that I like any country music at all.

What kind of question is that??

Modern electronic music, old school electronic music, dub, house, breakbeat, trance, freestyle, alternative, rock, metal, hip hop, rap, blues, reggaeton, jungle, D&B;, ANYTHING but country.

Country music is the only genre left in the music world with lyrics that actually have meaning in the lyrics. The artists have so much more talent. That's my opinion.

No ; i'm trying to point out that you're generalizing ; it's music plain and simple . You can't make a blanket statement about a type of music based on what 'some' of the people that are listening to it are doing . Country performers are no better or worse than any other . Bruce Springstine & John Mellencamp have both done important work with Farm Aid . Michael Jackson spearheaded We are the World .

I like almost all genres of music. How about some electrified country ? A few years ago, I was standing in a mile long queue line to ride a new roller coaster at Cedar Point Amusement Park. They started playing this song over the loudspeakers and the whole line turned into the Rockettes !

Rednex crossed that border between country and techno. Cotton eye joe. remember that one? [:~D]

There are a few popular Country songs I like, but most Country music drags. Electronic has a great beat, when done right.
