Miley Cyrus Reportedly Wants a Baby 'Quickly': Is She Too Young?

We were shocked to learn that 19-year-old Miley Cyrus is engaged, let alone thinking about having babies! But according to Us Weekly, she and fiancé Liam Hemsworth are already thinking about having kids, just a month after he popped the question.

"Miley and Liam really want to have a baby quickly," a Cyrus family source tells the mag. "They are both mature and ready for this," a source adds. "Miley is 19 going on 40." We've heard rumblings that daddy Billy Ray Cyrus is hoping for a LONG engagement, so we're not sure he'd agree with this "family source."

"Hunger Games" actor Hemsworth, 22, is on the young side himself, but perhaps he's been inspired by his brother Chris Hemsworth, who welcomed his daughter India in May. Do you think Miley is too young to have a baby?

I had my first at 20 (pregnant at 19). Best thing that ever happened to me. A 19 year old can easily raise a child, plus she'll be married and financially stable.

Since when is 19 too young? It's a question of maturity, not age. Some 40-year-olds aren't "ready" to be good parents.Many teens much younger than Cyrus make excellent mothers. It's about character not years.

Not THAT long ago (in the grand scheme of things) women got married and had kids at 14/15 (my grandmother did). Of course they were a lot more mature back then. Amazing how much maturity (or lack of) has changed within one hundred years. But ANYWAYS, at least, unlike most women her age, Miley is in a financial position to take care of a baby. If she wants a baby, who are we to judge whether she's too young or not?

No she is not too young! My mom was 18 when she got married (engaged at 17) and gave birth to my sister at 19 years old...

as a 20 year old... a baby is the LAST thing i want right now... and honestly being a hollywood couple... i really doubt they would last even though they are a cute couple... after she has the baby the experience will probably change her and i rarely ever hear people say they regret having their kid... but i just think she should wait until at least 25... thats what i would do... a baby at 20 seems crazy to me... but yea... depends on the person i guess. at least financially she can take care of it

Remember, if you will, the age in which girls were wed as young as 13. This isn't so crazy; if she wants to have a kid so she isn't old when it grows up, it's reasonable:x

Obviously she's not too young for marriage, and love, husband and marriage usually equal baby. Plus, I give her credit for being engaged, and pursuing marriage, now a days the women are getting married approximately two days before the baby comes, or they get married after they have had the child, and legally the baby should carry her last name, it's just less complicated when they fall in love, get married and then have the babies. Miley has been in business for a long time, she's probably an old soul. I was a mother at 20 years of age, I guess it depends on the young lady and her mindset.

I realize that you don't have to be married to have a kid, but as long as you are married then it shouldn't matter your age when you start having kids! My parents were married at 18 pregnant at 19 an my sister was born JUST after my mom had turned 20. One of my bosses was married and pregnant at 15. If you are married by all means start a family when YOU are ready for a family. If you are not married and doing it on your own then yeah being a teenager is too young to really start a family alone. I am 22. I was married July of 2011 at the age of 21 an 6 months later got pregnant and will be having our first child by the time we are 23. I wanted my first one by the time I was 20, but was alone and knew it wasn't right.

Chances are, a nanny will raise it. She'll buy it nice things but I guess if you have food in your mouth, a roof over your head and clothes on your back it's okay.

A baby isn't a pet. I don't understand what woman in her right mind would want a baby at that age. At 19 I was in college getting ready for graduate school. If she is responsible enough she can surely afford to wait until they know that their marriage will last. It's much easier to care for a child in a stable relationship.

I just wish they would take the responsibilty of being a role models for pubescent teens more seriously. Liam and Miley aren't "Hunger Game' characters, and average kids don't have their advantages. Saying kids are "19 going on 40," simply suggests they skipped a beat in their development, and does not imply wisdom beyond their years. I hope they have a long engagement, a simmer not a boil, that results in a lasting marriage. They are a great couple with lots of time, and I wish them well.

I don't know about the guy, but SHE has alot of growing up to do. She's in that wild stage. Why should she bring a kid into it when she's far from grownup mentally herself? You're right.

Creating a family has always been part of the happilly ever arter idea of marriage. I hope they take it slow before they complicate or solidify their relationship by having a child.

I meant to click yes, but it really does depend on the maturity. In most cases, yes, nineteen is too young. But there is nothing wrong with them discussing having one, because it is good to get your opinions out about that before you're actually married. Lots of marraiges have failed because one wanted to have kids, and the other did not. It is something that has to be talked about early on.

Engaged at 19 and she wants a baby? I think she's moving way too fast. I mean it's good that she wants to grow up, but if she tries to do it too fast she'll just end up like one of the other celebs now adays, divorced in less then a year and fighting in a custody battle. However, she is one of my favorite actresses/singers and I do hope whatever choices she makes she'll be happy with it.

Judging by how out of control she has been even just recently, I'm not sure she should EVER have a child!!!
Take it from an old lady who had her 1st child at age 19, children are a HUGE responsibility! That responsibility is not going to end for 18 years, and then shortly grandchildren will come along. Here I am at almost 58 and I finally am not raising kids. Now I wonder, where did my youth go???

My mom said you shouldn't get married or have a baby until your about i your late 20's going on to 30's. Just so you can spend the beginning of your finally-being-adult, life their not having to worry about a baby, at least then you can then get some time to think about it more, and how you want to live your life.. DON'T HAVE A BABY BEFORE YOU GET MARRIED,
