Michael Phelps in Louis Vuitton Ad: Sexy or Strange?

Water give the illusion of width. So no. Maybe if the tub was dry, or he had his legs dangling out of it. Then maybe it would make for some hotness.

This whole photo is awkward...everything in it is awkward....his face, the girly bag beside the tub with his clothes in it, the swim goggles on in the bath, his pose looks forced and uncomfortable, the thing near his butt that looks like he just sharted or sht in the tub(I know its probably the drain but still looks funny)

Maybe it was the pose??It wasn't a sexy pose, Phelps it's a much more good looking lad than the one who appears in the tub Ad, wish the photographers Louis Vuitton hired did better justice to Mike Phelps looks.

I know that the athletes are going to sign contracts to pose in ads, that's understandable. Who wouldn't take the opportunity. However, I think you have to have a say in what they want you to do. That pose isn't particularly flattering to him. Doesn't look sexy. It seems kind of demeaning to me - given his Olympic accomplishments.

They pay him a lot of money to advertise. Take Subway, I don't buy their sandwiches because he advertises for them. Subway should take the money they pay him and reduce the price.

Uh ... he looks like a guy you would warn your kids about ... one that drives a van with cardboard over the back windows, offers kids candy and puppies ...

This is a photo op by Annie Leibovitz commissioned by Louis Vuitton. She probably took hundreds of photos in various poses in and out of the bath tub. The Art Director from Louis Vuitton picked the photo. It is not meant to be sexy, it is meant to show case the Louis Vuitton bag. Michael got paid handsomely and Louis Vuitton got another celebrity to shill for them. It is a commercial arrangement, no more no less. If people find Michael sexy or not sexy, the Louis Vuitton people could not care less. They just want to use the most decorated athlete's image to sell more of their bags. I bet you they will regardless what you think of the photo.

P.S. I don't find the ad sexy, I just checked sexy because I don't find it strange either.

Ads have gone too far. We get it, Sex sells, But, can’t the advertisers come up with something more creative. Louis Vuitton really, over priced bags, you can have it.

My wife said he's about the least sexy guy she's ever seen. The guy is a great swimmer, lets leave the sexy part out of it. The media could turn a frog into a prince if it wanted to, and the same goes for certain women, when they try and push the super skinny actresses down our throats. Too skinny is not sexy, unless you like bones, not flesh.
