Michael Phelps Goes Public with Model Megan Rossee: Is She in It for Fame?

On Monday night, Michael Phelps went public with his girlfriend Megan Rossee. For their first official outing as a couple, the pair attended a Speedo event in London just days after he became the most decorated Olympian in history. Reports say Phelps met the aspiring model/actress in February and they have been quietly dating ever since. The key word here is aspiring, which, of course, has set the Internet on its ears with allegations that she is only into him to get exposure for her career.



In her ModelMayhem.com bio she writes, “This summer has turned out to be very busy for me, so I am no longer accepting TFP unless hair/makeup or wardrobe are provided, or if the project is something my portfolio is lacking.” TPF in the modeling world means Time for Prints. In other words, the model poses for free in exchange for prints from the photographer. Not something an established model needs to be doing, nor would her portfolio be lacking if her career had already taken off.

But Rossee’s dad, Wayne, reportedly defended his daughter to RumorFix.com, saying, “She had a career in her own right before she ever met Michael… She doesn’t need that from him.” So what do you think: Is Rossee just dating Phelps to get a very long leg up in the modeling game?
