A Michael Jordan look alike appeared for a Utah Flash home opener, despite rumors that the real Michael Jordan would be present for a competition against Bryon Russell. Bryon Russell was the Utah Jazz guard that was humiliated by Michael Jordan for a post shot in his last NBA finals.

Utah Flash owner Brandt Andersen wanted to pit Michael Jordan against Bryon Russell in a one-on-one competition. Andersen offered $100,000 to a charity of the winner's choice.

Jordan never responded. Andersen decided then, to make a hoax out of the competition.

When the 7,500+ fan showed up at the Utah Flash opener and saw the Michael Jordan look alike, they began booing the look alike. Cheerleaders threw free t-shirts into the stands, but irritated fans threw them back in light of the hoax.

In an "apology" to fans Brandt Andersen said, "This was done in fun. If you did not see it as fun... [then] I am sorry."
