Michael Jackson to Appear on Pepsi Cans: Acceptable or Inappropriate?

Rumors of a Michael Jackson hologram might still hold weight, but they won't be the first reappearance of the late King of Pop. First, Pepsi is making him the King of Soda Pop. Pepsi announced it will be featuring the deceased performer in its latest ad campaign by printing his image on Pepsi cans, in a television ad, and by distributing remixes of his songs through promotional offers. It's going to be an international ad campaign, and according to News One, the nature of the campaign will vary by country.

Jackson actually has a history with Pepsi, and it's not a pretty one. He first worked with them in 1983, when he appeared in a commercial with "Fresh Prince of Bel Air" star Alfonso Ribeiro. Jackson continued to work with them until a faulty firework severely injured him. But now that the singer is no longer with us, there's obviously not danger of that happening. The new campaign will be closely tied to the ads Nicki Minaj has been working on, and will reportedly include upwards of one billion "limited edition" MJ cans.

Michael didn't drink Pepsi. He just did the commercial to make money like most celebrities. I know this will come as a shock to you. It's not real, it's just business.

Jesus was a good person, who said "let the little children come unto me". Are you accusing Jesus of being a pedophile?

Michael had a lot of charitably causes for young people around the world, it would be nice to contribute a portion from every can to a charitably causes in his name!

Let's not forget that M.J received a fortune in settlements from Peps Co. If you really want Pepsi to show responsibility for what has happened to M.J then demand that they contribute part of their profits to a charitably cause that Michael would support if he was alive.

Very Inappropriate. It was the 1984 Pepsi Commecial acccident were he was severly burned that very well have set him on the pathway that lead to his addition pain medication.

In high doses these things can warp your mind and destroy your body. It's a vicious circle where you need more for the pain, then need more drugs for the dependency. A horrible way to live and it appears all he had were enablers.

    Pepsi should suck it.

The imposter "executors" of his estate and SONY are the only one's who benefit from these gimmicks. They are the one's who are complicit in this scheme. They call the shots. Michael's father has nothing to do with his son's estate. The great, neutral, colorblind, Judicial System of California threw out daddy along with the rest of the Jackson family.

I don't really see anything wrong with it,find it kind of ironic though.EDIT:Come on people,it's just him on a Pepsi can,it's kind of appropriate,he's the king of a different kind of pop now, well he's still the king of the other kind of pop too but you know what I mean.I'm sure Micheal wouldn't mind,he was a nice person so I'm sure he forgave them.

Liked his music, didn't like his pedophilia.
But the imagery on the cans is a reminder of the music and the art.

Were you a witness to his "pedophilia"? To the best of my knowledge, the only two boys they could get to go along with this, turned out to be liars who were acting on the behest of their parents.
