Michael Jackson Hologram in the Works: Too Cool or Too Soon?

It had to happen. There was no way around it. Now that Tupac Shakur has been raised from the dead via hologram recreation, the flood gates are open. It hasn't even been a week, and the public is already discussing who will be next. Will it be John Lennon? Jimi Hendrix? Elvis? According to E! News, Michael Jackson is a real possibility.

Jackie Jackson, the late King of Pop's older brother, told E!, "It could have Michael – absolutely. Wouldn’t that be wonderful? As a matter of fact, we had that idea two years ago for Michael’s Cirque du Soleil show." He added that Jackson might join his brothers on an upcoming tour.

However, AV Concepts, the creators of Tupac's hologram dropped an eerie comment. When asked if they would partner with the Jackson family, a spokesperson replied, "We’re not commenting at all right now out of respect for the attendees of Coachella this coming weekend." This coming weekend? Who knows if it's Jackson, but it sounds like they could have something -- or someone -- up their sleeve.

What makes me vehemently oppose what might appear to be a cool idea is the thought of that parasitic vulture Joe Jackson continues to ponce off his son in death. Michael carried him financially for more years than was decent and now in death he still intends to capitalize! For God's sake, let Michael rest in peace!!!

I never thought much of Elvis, he died when I was 9, I remember, but it didn't impact me much. i recently went to Memphis for the weekend. It was very chill and laid back and cool. Checked out Graceland (when in Rome...) and there in a huge building, filled with 100's of gold records, movie posters, awards, video screens and women staring up at iconic images CRYING, even though you still don't like him, you respect him AND you get it. If that makes sense? But to see it again? that's not respect or devotion. That's just greed.

Ugh. The Tupac hologram was cool because it was so new and unexpected. If these become trite and overused, they're going to quickly becomes one of my most hated, tackiest things.

Makes total sense why George Lucas is buying dead celebrity film rights. Shame these people will profit off the dead for as long as they want.

I could live a hundred years, and a hundred years after I die would be too soon. That may be really harsh, but I just can't stand his music and I know I never will. I had to listen to him on the radio when he was alive and for weeks after he died. I think I've had enough.

At least if they do he'll actually have an excuse for lip-syncing on stage this time around.

Harsh or not I have no respect for any so called singer who has/had a habit of lip syncing in concert.

I just think that the family seems to be a little lost in many ways to put THE ULTIMATE tribute concert in the road. ... And... for some reason, since 2009, it doesn't happen! Of course all of them have the best professional people of music to deal with, but.... still...nothing happens!! Well, once again, they're attempting to make the plans true, but I would feel uncomfortable in front of a hologram of Michael, too soon.... I'm not ready yet... it still hurts.

Why do people insist on "bringing back the dead"? Let them rest.

Why can't they just leave the dead legends alone. They tried the same thing with Elvis. I truly loved Michael, but you just have to let him go.
