Michael Jackson Hologram in the Works: Too Cool or Too Soon?

It had to happen. There was no way around it. Now that Tupac Shakur has been raised from the dead via hologram recreation, the flood gates are open. It hasn't even been a week, and the public is already discussing who will be next. Will it be John Lennon? Jimi Hendrix? Elvis? According to E! News, Michael Jackson is a real possibility.

Jackie Jackson, the late King of Pop's older brother, told E!, "It could have Michael – absolutely. Wouldn’t that be wonderful? As a matter of fact, we had that idea two years ago for Michael’s Cirque du Soleil show." He added that Jackson might join his brothers on an upcoming tour.

However, AV Concepts, the creators of Tupac's hologram dropped an eerie comment. When asked if they would partner with the Jackson family, a spokesperson replied, "We’re not commenting at all right now out of respect for the attendees of Coachella this coming weekend." This coming weekend? Who knows if it's Jackson, but it sounds like they could have something -- or someone -- up their sleeve.

What makes me vehemently oppose what might appear to be a cool idea is the thought of that parasitic vulture Joe Jackson continues to ponce off his son in death. Michael carried him financially for more years than was decent and now in death he still intends to capitalize! For God's sake, let Michael rest in peace!!!

I love MJ but he should be honored and be able to rest n peace for a lil bit longer. We don't really need a hologram to remember him by we always will have his music

though, it would bring back the painful memories of his death and could possibly start an uproar of grievance amongst mj fans, but that would be sooo cool otherwise!

We need to wait until technology has invented a system to stop the rape of holograms of little boys.

This whole thing is creeping me out. The dead are dead. I don't want to see a hologram of someone who's simultaneously decomposing in his coffin.

I love MJ and his songs but ... let him stay dead please. I get that artists tend to be much more famous and "wealthy" after their death but this just seems a little sad. I don't even like Tupac and I felt horrible that he was still being used AFTER his death to make money. I don't want MJ to just turn into some big business scheme, he's still human afterall.

It is not like they haven't played concert footage on him. Doesn't sound like it would be much different.

I really don't have an opinion about the recreations. It's important to correct one item: The Tupac show was NOT a hologram - it was a computer created/modified 2D projection. Yes, the technology was/is amazing, and yes, there was a lot of work done to make it, but it was a 2D projection onto a piece of glass.

    1. Wasn't he always?

    2. Anyway, it would be WAY too translucent white and you would only be able to see 'through' it.

    Aw man....see comment 1.

Well it is very cool to see his hologram. but one thing is for sure. All of his hologram will be based on his early live performance. It's quite a bit boring. :(

If someone is dead, their dead. Don't try to revive and destroy memories of old stars. Soon it's gonna be Futurama style where we have the heads of people in liquid suspension jars.

I personally don't care that much, but I can see how someone who is a big fan could get offended. Give it at least 2 more years.

They are already doing 2Pac but there is no tour date though. That would be awesome if they did MJ. You know I don't think that it would be something they every would enjoy because they are already dead and gone but what do I know.
