Los Angeles Lakers defensive specialist Metta World Peace, aka Ron Artest, has been suspended for seven games by the NBA, due to his actions during Sunday's game against the Oklahoma City Thunder. As we covered here on SodaHead Sports, Peace was celebrating after he scored on Sunday and pumped his fist so hard that he elbowed Thunder player James Harden in the head.
Harden was nearly knocked out unconscious and is currently day-to-day. He is expected to play in the first round of the NBA Playoffs. Yet as lucky as Harden is, in this day and age of closer examination with head injuries, the concussion he suffered at the hands (or elbow) of Peace could make him more vulnerable to brain damage should he end up concussed again later in life.
Remember: It's not like this was an accident or “part of the game.” This was a blatant shot to the head of an innocent and unsuspecting player. And whether there's beef between the two players or two teams is irrelevant because actions like that in basketball -- let alone any sport that's not combat-based like mixed martial arts or boxing -- is uncalled for. Metta World Peace will miss six playoff games during his suspension. So much for staying true to his new name.

Don't know what you don't see but I'll tell you that intelligent people don't do what he does. Like go up into the stands and beat up young fans that did not throw anything at him. Blind side people out of the blue. Thugs do that though.
On January 30, 2007, Animal Services took his dog away because he was mistreating it. His dog was released under a foster care agreement after being treated for more than a month after he agreed to allow the dog to be adopted by a new owner.Real smart man RIGHT? He's a real dirty player and how much schooling he has doesn't mean that he is nice at all. That comes from his hart. I can find all kinds of fights and family violence but nothing about him doing anything decent.
You should know that in collage sports they want talent and will do just about anything to get it and keep them on the team including cheating to do so. So that don't mean he is educated.
Basketball is not a violent sport. If he wants to behave that way, he can join a fight club.
I don't care how good he is otherwise, there is no excuse that kind of absolutely unsportsmanlike conduct. (And he is a habitual offender.)
