Audiences were shocked on Tuesday night as reality star Melissa Rycroft was named the winner of the 15th season of “Dancing With The Stars.” Olympic gymnast Shawn Johnson had been expected to become the first competitor to win two seasons of the competition. Watch the video below for more details on the unexpected win!

Melissa was the only finalist to have never won a previous season of the show, in what Tom Bergeron described as a “feel-good win.” Her partner Tony Dovolani was so excited by the win that his outburst had to be bleeped. Melissa previously competed in season eight of the show, coming in third overall.

Kelly Monaco and her dance partner Val Chmerkovskiy came in third this season — and have also denied the rumors that they are dating, much to the disappointment of their fans.

Who ever is saying Melissa rycroft is simply blind or jealous that they didn't Winn or their fan fav.. She's an excellent person, mom, friend and wife.. And a magnificent dancer!! We loved you melissa and there were enough that did tat you shouldn't worry about the haters!! You won from fans and judges points.. End of story your were the best this season!!!!

I liked Melissa maybe not as much as shawn johnson but i liked her. The one i didnt like was Kelly Monaco she was way too tense at times. i like the bubbly upbeat ones. i never liked kate gosselin anyway,

Disappointed in the votes here. Anyone who knows the art of dance wouldn't have Melissa on this list. I believed and hoped that it would come down to Melissa and Shawn. And regardless of who they both would have deserved it. But if anyone can recall Tony got shafted once before when his partner Stacy Kiebler, who was the the best dancer through most of that year, didn't make the final two. Anyone who says that Melissa doesn't deserve it has no idea of great dancing. They wanted cute little Shawn to win and as has happened so often in the past, the beautiful women are hated and voted off by their hypocrite "sisters" who vote. The old green eyed monster. It is after all mostly women who watch and vote. The main reason it didn't happen this time is because Melissa had a huge voting block. Texas. Stacy didn't have that and was gone. Same with Mel B. and Kathryn Jackson. Women tend not to give a prize to their beautiful "sisters", because in their hearts they believe that they have the prize already. Of course a cute guy is different for them. Because although women like to put on the act that they are different then men and don't judge by appearences, when it comes down to it, they'll vote for the cute guy over the beautiful woman almost every time. I put mr p as worst but Kate G and Chaz bono run a close second. As for the comments about Bristol, I thought she did good this time.

To stiff and didn't seem to ENJOY dancing, just didn't have the her heart in it. As for Shawn not winning the writing was on the wall to not let Derek and his partner get another trophy they had to give it to someone else this year. Rycroff was good but should have had the 2nd place.

I feel everyone likes to see someone win who is deserving of the title. If a contestant doesn't behave themselves in a respectful manner, even though they might show great improvement, they shouldn't even be in the running. If I had to pick one who I think showed both a good attitude and improvement in dancing this season, it would have been the little gal who, twice, got voted off too early...Sabrina Bryan. I was happy to see Tony get the trophy, however. He has been great and humble, too, in every season of DWTS.

I don't really care because I haven't watched this stupid show since the first season when the results were so OBVIOUSLY rigged. Any show that will start off by cheating isn't something I want to watch because they destroy any credibility they might have had. Bad thing is I love to watch dance...but....I refuse to watch this popularity carnival.
