Thanks to her hilarious, over-the-top performance in "Bridesmaids" (including one, um, memorable scene) the "Mike & Molly" Emmy nominee is Hollywood's new golden girl.

As far as Hollywood is concerned, a star was born in this spring's hit movie "Bridesmaids" -- and it wasn't Kristen Wiig.
Thanks to her hilarious, over-the-top performance (including one, um, memorable scene) Melissa McCarthy -- who just received an Emmy nomination for her sitcom "Mike & Molly" -- is Hollywood's new golden girl.
"Let any debate about 'women aren't funny' be put to rest. I would do anything with her, and she's got such range that she kind of can do anything," "Bridesmaids" director Paul Feig tells GQ.
The best thing about McCarthy? She's not afraid to be "repulsive."
"Honestly, I've always felt that Melissa is hands down one of the most incredible performers I've ever worked with," her "Bridesmaids" co-star Maya Rudolph told GQ. "When we were making 'Bridesmaids,' I secretly delighted in knowing that vintage McCarthy was about to be unleashed upon the world, and I was excited to tell the world, 'Hold on to your ass.'"

Joan Rivers

My favorite comedian hands down!!
Also, I like Kristen Wig, too.
She had a bit part - maybe 60 seconds of screen time. It was one of the most hilarious, engaging, and memorable parts of the film. I immediately loved her, and said "I want her to be a STAR."
It is such a thrill to see people who clearly are talented and deserve success get it.
I go with Silverman on this list because, God lover her, she's got BALLS. I mean, huge ones. Her comedy just goes at the most horrific social issues and gives them the appropriate...well, "rear ending" that someone with her balls only can do.
Fey would be my second choice.
