Mel Gibson and Oksana Grigorieva – The Ugliest Celebrity Couple Court Battle Ever?

Their public feud has been raging for a long time but Mel Gibson and his former-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva have finally reached a final settlement and resolved child custody issues. Despite her best efforts Mel’s Russian gal pal only managed to walk away with $750,000 and be allowed to live in Mel’s Sherman Oaks, California home until the couple’s daughter, Lucia, is 18-years-old.

That might sound like a lot. That is until you consider the fact that Mel’s ex-wife, Robyn, might have left their 28-year-marriage with half of his estimated $900,000,000 fortune.

Of course Robyn left Mel with his dignity basically intact. True, Mel was having public image problems before Grigorieva was in the mix. But their nasty break-up has done what seems like irreparable damage to the once mega-star of films like “Lethal Weapon” and “The Patriot.”

Mel must be happy to almost have this whole mess behind him. The battle has been bitter to say the least. In July of 2010 the blogosphere was cluttered with tapes of a raging Mel allegedly making threats to Oksana about burying her in the rose garden and her needing a bat to the side of the head. Then in March of this year, Mel entered a no contest plea to a charge of misdemeanor battery.

He’s not the first celebrity to go through a brutal split and costly legal case. But his is probably the worst.
