Late Beastie Boy Adam Yauch aka MCA ensured that he would never become a sellout by instructing in his will that his image and the art that he created can never be used in advertising.
His will was filed Tuesday in Manhattan and left his wife and daughter his fortune and the rights to manage his artistic property. There seems to be an increasing trend in using images of deceased artists in commercials... so do you think more artists should follow suit?

In regards to Iggy though, it is pretty hilarious that Carnival used "Lust for Life" in their ads.
But eventually, their popularity drops, and then the need for cash kicks in and some company somewhere offers enough to play their music.
I remember when several artists over the years didn't want their music used for commercial purpose.

It's not a crime to get paid for your art.
RIP Adam, you were a visionary in hip-hop music.
