The New York Post reports that when Maxim sent out invites for the magazine's Hot 100 party, in celebration of Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and the other 99 celebrities that made the list, they made it clear what the invites were for.

The invite is for beautiful female guests only, 21 or older. E-mail RSVP with a recent photo. Confirmation required.

Maxim responded by assuring the New York Post that this was not the invitation sent to honored guests. A rep explained that it was "used by a promoter who wrangles models for the event."

No kidding.

Obviously.... An unattractive woman can still be classy. In fact, there aren't many classy women at all that I see around, 'beautiful' women tend to be trashy a lot nowadays, not ALL, notice.
Besides.. THAT party? Seriously? Class? lol. Classy is going to be wiped out in a few years time completely if the media has its way.

How about "Other"...

Like others have said, it is their party and they can invite whomever they want. "Hot" Women is their business. So, they get to decide who is beautiful and who isn't based on what they have learned about what their readers want.

As "Cliche" as it is... Beauty is in the eye of the beholder... Their Party, their eye. The fact that someone would even want to impose their own feelings on what they (Maxim) do, is hideous in my mind. This is, or was, a free country. If someone doesn't like what Maxim does, don't buy their magazine. This whole "Politically Correct" crap makes me sick to my stomach...

what classifies as beautiful (when it comes to women) in todays society causes so much pain, and confusion. what is beautiful to one person is ugly to another. what it truly beautiful? a kind caring person who's selfless and modest? or a girl with huge boobs and a big butt?

Would beautiful women be turned off by an invitation like that? They hear 10 times a day how beautiful they are, so it becomes boring to them. Nothing is more deadly to a woman's interest than boredom.

classy? that's an awful way to put it. it's their party, they can do whatever they want. So it's something people have to take, but it's way far off from classy.

Neither.
Of course someone shouldn't be judged by their looks, but it is their party and if they won't want beautiful people their then it's their choice. I guess it's an insult if you don't get invited, but a big compliment if you are. It'll help the ugly people that think they're all that, that they aren't, it'll give them a nice reality check.
